“As perfect as Pai”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

It's a lovely place, so green and peaceful. I stayed in the dorm rooms and the bugalows both were equally nice and clean with good bath rooms. It attracts the right crowd too, we had great early evening chills in the gardens with fellow travellers.

1) Location was not easy to find, but I notice the small signs from the main street and follow them to the guest house.
2) Customer service was broken english and not helpful if you have no idea what to do there...
3)I stayed in a love shack, very basic and no aircon for 100B. The bed was comfortable
4)The room was clean, some what...
5) Bathroom was old and stone aged.
6)Wifi weak signal, but you need to outside to pick up stronger singal
7) the love shack had its own key + padlcok, so it was safe...
8)Very quite place , surrounded by peaceful garden
9) Suggestion, is a good coat of paint and update the decore

Room Tip: Very basic

I liked this place and I adored Pai! We stayed in one of the bungalows that were £5 a night at first for 2 nights and they were ok. I mean they were so cheap you couldn't complain, however after 2 nights the self flush toilet and the cold shower meant that we upgraded to a bigger room that had a tv,a hot shower and a flush toilet for £1 more and I felt a lot more comfortable. The bungalows are quite dark but on the plus side they are set around a beautiful garden and are in the perfect location. mr jans is right in the middle of Pai but down a side street so you get a good nights sleep when needed. My boyfriend and I were planning on spending 2 nights in Pai and ended up spending a week as its such a magical place! I would definitely recommend this place for people on a budget. All I would say is if you wanting home comforts go for the slightly more expensive bungalows!

Has bungolowss varying from 250 to 400 thb. The whole complex is located aroung a botanic garden, few minutes from center of Pai (back street). Room was good with all the required stuff- 2 blankets, wifi and hot water. Outside each bungolow theres a porch observing the garden, great for the morning coffee. Lundry prices are fair too.

This place is ideally located down a lane back from the main road (so you don't get much noise from outside) and it is so cheap! I paid 200 baht for a single room, or they quoted 300 for 2 people. The room was basic but clean and decent sized. It had hot water and a fan. I was there in February, it was 34 degrees outside but the room felt nice and cool!

I also had a shan massage and a herbal massage while staying there, each for 200 baht. Both were excellent (although it is a matress on the living room floor, not a bed in a spa) and I highly recommend them.

Mr. Jan and his staff are friendly and welcoming, and the place is pretty with gardens and herbs grown everywhere. They also had free wifi which worked well in my room but I'm not sure if it reaches all the rooms. If I go back to pai I would stay here again. You can't ask for much more for the low cost!

This lovely little hideaway was perfect for our budget. So cheap and simple, but comfortable. Don't expect luxury, but it's definitely value for money. The gardens are beautiful and it gives the place such a special feel. A lot of effort has gone into it.

OK, the place is nothing to write home about but for $6 a night this was adequate. The first impression is good. The place is located just a short walk from the main street and consists of several bungalows situated around a well maintained garden. In fact gardener is the only staff that I have seen there working almost around the clock and my impression was that the garden is the only place that gets maintained. The rooms are due for renovation but livable. I stayed in a fan room, but since it was November I could not complain (about the heat). The room had it's own bathroom and a hot shower (a definite plus) and even a private outside patio. Unfortunately my room was dark and felt dump. I think partially because of the Asian type shower where you essentially flood a bathroom floor during shower, and since it was cold it took a long time to for a water to evaporate, making the whole room feel dump including my bed sheets. This was the only place in my SE Asia travel that I did not like the sheets (felt dump and greyish) and was sleeping in my own sleeping bag. The GH rooms make an impression of a run down place but what can you expect for $6 per night. There were a few cold nights and the rooms felt really cold at night, but even during a day time, the room would feel cold but acceptable - fortunately the comforter was thick and warm.

There is also a bar somewhere in vicinity across the fence and music could be heard in my room at night. To add to that chicken would raise a noise at around 5am, so if you are a light sleeper, this place might not be for you or bring ear plugs and you will be fine. Would I stay there again? The $6 per night is definitely enticing (and livable), but if given time I would research some other options which are plentiful in Pai.
