On our trip to mae hon son, we stopped first in Pai. a really perfect town, where the time seems to be stopped in the 60's. we slept in a hotel, on a 20 minutes walking distance from this town Pai, which is called: baan krating. a very quiet place with even a lovely swimmingpool, all 'houses', but with very nice view and in a green landscape. the breakfast was a little poor, but the people were so friendly, that you really don't mind! worth to go back!

Due to low season this good greenery resort looked sad to me but i have my relaxing moment in here with raining season. The resort very good itself, big room/bathroom with wooden style plus on the side of Pai river (thump up). All in room amenities are great and ready. The hotel have their swimming pool beside Pai river for more relaxing(we no need to pay a fee like some of previous comment). Outside of my room window i can see some of hotel staff do a rice farm in the morning, it's very impressive. The resort located a few kilometer away from Pai town but it's easy to access if you rent a bike or motorbike. Only one thing that i may give them lower score..that is breakfast.( i am not sure because of low season or not). The hotel also give free Wifi so no need to worry about our facebook.

The resort is a few kilometers out of town but still convenient to get there easily. It is settled in green landscape. The huts are spread around a wide area which is filled up with trees, lakes and little walkways. The rooms are nice decorated; especially the bathrooms are really well done. TV selection is local and limited but as the view is so nice and the terrace is so cozy you don't need a TV. The attached restaurant has a wide selection of local food (if available ...) and very friendly service. The breakfast was served there as well, nothing special but enough for the morning.

This place was amazing! We had our own little bungalow to ourselves. The bathrooms are super cool, with dark wood. The grounds are gorgeous! And you are right on the river. It is a bit of a walk into town, but it is nice walk. Breakfast was pretty weak, and I think there was a fee to use the pool which is ridicilous! Staff was nice and helpful. But such a nice layout. Wish we would have spent more time there.

The hotel, situated a taxi ride or 20-30 minute walk out of town, is set in beautiful spacious gardens by the side of a river. While the chalet-style room was large, well-appointed with comfy beds and very clean there were a couple of points that made this hotel (for us at least) poor value for money. The breakfast was pretty basic, there was no buffet available and there was little choice. Lunch and dinner didn't appear to be available at all. The swimming pool was packed with children and very noisy. On enquiring I was told that local kids could use the pool for a small fee - great idea but not at the cost of paying guests being able to utilise the facility. To be fair to the hotel we were there in low season when there few guests, but this shouldn't have affected the quality of sevices and facilities. Probably would be better in high season, but would also cost more. When we were there it didn't really provide value for money.
