Room is cozy, quite spacious and also clean(with Thai standards and another G.H). View from room is also nice. Every morning I wake up, I open my window, I can feel Im in Pai. Its so much good feeling.
Can use fee wifi, Hot shower, hot water for coffee.(Coffee is 10B)
What I really like is Sai and her husband, they are really kind. They can get you almost everything if its possible.
Location is perfect for me, but if you want to be in town, maybe it feels quite far to you. But its only 5 ~ 10 mins walking distance and safe to walk from town. So if you want to be more quite and peaceful and little bit away from crowdness, it will be perfect option.
Free pick up and maybe drop off(Since Im staying here, I dont know yet)
There are few restaraunt near by, so you dont need to go town to eat sth.
Owner clean their shared bathroom and toilet and gardening everyday.

So, my conclusion is that, if you are looking for a place which is quite, waliking distance from town, clean, and owned by kind people, it will be the right place for you.

Rate start from 200B, mothly rate 3000B.

Before I booked on booking.com I couldn't believe how cheap this place was and read many reviews. To my surprise they were all good so went ahead and booked it. It really is a gem located in a little haven about a five minute walk from pai on a well lit road that's safe to walk on. We opted for the basic fan bungalow with a shared bathroom as we are budget backpackers and it really was perfect. Absolutely spotless mosquito net provided (minimal bites while I was here), mirror in the room, bottled water, fresh towels, clothes hangers if needed but most of all a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, a fish pond, hammocks was a very peaceful place. The shared bathroom was also really clean, toilet paper renewed daily, soap, hot shower and well lit up at night time. There are other options to get a superior bungalow with air con and ensuite. Our basic bungalow never felt too hot even with just a fan it was truly a home away from home. The owners and their family were always so friendly interested in what you had done in pai there was a great vibe here I loved it and pai so much I'm very sad to leave. Stay here you will not regret it. Thanks rainbow house I will be back

Upon arrival in Pai and with the expectations of only staying a night or two we went with a recommendation and stayed at The Rainbow House. From the minute we arrived at the bus station Noi the owner was there to pick us up. He took us directly to rainbow where we met his wife and his mother. The bungalow was 300bht a night and was beautiful. The centre of Pai is only 5 minute walk away and the main swimming pool in Pai is across the road. Perfect location.
Our two night stay turned into a fantastic seven nights. If I was ever in Pai again Rainbow house would be my first stop. X

I came to Pai to escape the noise, pollution an bustle of Chiang Mai. After finishing a 30 day island yoga retreat the city life was proving too much. I'm so glad i found Pai Rainbow House! The place is just what you need if you want to be located an easy walk from town but still enjoy the space and quiet of the countryside. The owners Noi and Sai are truly the sweetest and most welcoming hosts i have ever stayed with on my numerous journeys to Thailand (and given the friendly Thai temperament, that is saying a lot). They do their best to accommodate you in any way they can, including offering you ripe papayas from the trees in their garden, cleaning your room whenever you ask, transferring you to and from town on arrival and departure and just being generally so friendly.

The facilities at Rainbow house are very clean, the bungalows are basic, but lovely and, importantly, have not a trace of the familiar mould smell you get so often in Thailand. The beds are indeed hard as mentioned in other reviews, so be prepared. However, Noi actually changed the mattress in our room to a softer one so that my very tall and thin boyfriend could have a comfortable sleep. So if you're lucky and there is one spare you can always ask to change.

For the 200 baht a night we paid, i would say that Pai Rainbow House is fantastic value. It is not just a beautiful place to stay, it is a little taste of the real old-fashioned Thailand.

Love you Pai Rainbow and will definitely be back!!!

Swimming pools, air-conditioning, soft mattresses, aggressive advertising, high prices and sharp management are becoming common features of accommodation in Pai now. They all contrive to make it difficult for the discerning budget traveller to find a decent place to stay at a low price. But such a place is Rainbow House. The prices there start at 200 baht a night, Low Season and 400 baht High, with the high season being just a few weeks in December. Discounts are available for longer stays too, I stayed there for 150 baht a night for bungalow and shared bathroom.

Rainbow consists of 9 bungalows, each with double bed (mostly with very firm mattresses), surrounding the most beautiful garden and flowing pond, plus one new brick house (with soft mattresses) above the garden, suited to groups travelling by minibus. The house can be divided for smaller groups of up to 4 and 8 too. There is also a meadow behind the bungalows which is good for barbecues and camping in the High Season.

The bungalows are basic and getting a little old now after 9 years but they are adequately sized and kept very clean by the owners Noi and Sai. Noi and Sai are old-school Pai, kind, genteel and with no regard for sales gimmickry at all, but extremely attentive to the importances of hospitality, cleanliness and good security for their guests.

Rainbow suffered a severe blow to its business last year with the construction of a new luxury resort next door. Prospective customers walked away on sight and sound of the building works, but that is almost complete (the new hotel is scheduled to open in July 2011), disturbances are no longer so severe and a relative peace is returning to the garden.

The location is otherwise perfect, at the Mae Yen end of town across the bridge - far enough from the increasingly busy and noisy centre, yet within easy walking distance. It is also very close to Fluid, the ever popular public swimming pool and the music bars, Bamboo, Rasta and Don't Cry.

I have stayed at Rainbow many times. Noi, Sai and the kids have become good friends over the years and have always treated me with no less than the utmost kindness. If you are independently minded, budget-conscious, appreciative of the older values of Thai hospitality, a mixed clientele of both Thai and foreign, and not averse to firm mattresses and older-style accommodation, I warmly recommend Rainbow House to you.

Room Tip: Buying 6 tickets to Fluid pool makes it cheaper
