great room with balcony above reception. view is amazing. really clean rooms that get serviced everday. about ten minute walk into town along well lit side road. above average bathroom. we paid 20aud a night.. was going to stay three nights, ended up staying six. drawbacks- reception girls very nice, but terrible at english. dont expect any advice on the town. they listen to thai techno music and talk quite loudly in thai all day if you are sitting on balcony.. kind of affects the relaxation. kareoke bar not too far away... drunk thais singing off-key into the microphone will def ruin your relaxation, but i think its only on weekends, and finishes midnight. i would stay here again if i came back to pai

We spent only one night at Paiviengfah as part of a self-drive tour through the area. We had two upper floor rooms of the higher category and - although I would classify the guest house as simple - did not miss anything. Everything was clean, in good working order and the nice decoration in the beautiful setting helped to get a good night sleep. Service was very friendly and helpful, although English skills were extremely poor. Nevertheless, with a few guestures all formalities were done in no time. More efficient than in some international hotels that pride themselves with the service.
Obviously, one has to put the 4/5 points into perspective. We are talking about a simple B&B in rural Thailand and not a luxury hotel in a major metropolis. There are no fancy spas or ballrooms, but you certainly don't need that in this location. Let the surroundings and the charming village impress you. The Paiviengfah is the perfect and appropriate base for this. Close to town (10 mins walk), so far away to avoid the noise and close enough to be convenient. I'd come back any time and regret we've only had time for one night.

Room tip: Upper floor rooms for a stunning view
