I would have to recommend Mut Mee Guest House Nong Khai , I have stayed in Mut Mee Guest House many times. You can get a good room for about 800 Baht. Nice rooms..free wifi but not good for that. It's always interrupted! No TV and fridge in your room, That's not the point ! I hope to be back there again. ;-)

I stayed in a single room here with shared bathroom (180THB). Bathroom and room were clean and well appointed. There room was tiny, but it did have some furniture even, clean sheets, duvet and a mosquito net (really necessary, there were loads of mosquitos). My bed was pretty worn though and the matrass saged in the middle.
No towel and toilet paper were provided.

180THB is not expensive, but its also not exactly cheap for the size of the room, but since the surroundings were so nice, it was ok. For the room itself, there are probably better options around - but still I would probably stay here again if I'd return, because I really appreciated the garden and the comfy furniture there and the nice view.

The garden was beautiful to sit in and watch the river, very relaxing. The WIFI signal was strong and fast (did not work in my room though) and there were also many charging points in the garden, so it was convenint to sit there longer with the laptop.

The food in the place I found not so good. The portions were rather small and not cheap for Thailand. E.g. soup or porridge was the smallest portions I had in 7 weeks Thailand, served in really tiny bowls. So I recommend eating somewhere else - even though the garden is amazing.
The taste, by the way, was OK, but again not overwhelming.

The people working there were friendly and they had loads of info material about the area, and provided an area map, which is a nice gesture.

Room Tip: Close to the main building, if you want WIFI signal

This concept-accommodation place is really nicely done. Our room was beautifully designed and decorated - private and comfortable. The gardens are also artfully arranged with small sculptures and a selection of quiet as well as communal spaces. The team run things very efficiently and cheerfully but it never appears too 'slick' or impersonal. The food portions are smallish but very yummy or it's just a few minutes walk to Nong Khai eateries along the water front. I also had a great massage from the in-house / in-ground service at Mut Mee. Highly recommend it - best massage I had in Thailand! I can see that people are so well looked after at Mut Mee that it would be easy to fall to the temptation to just relax in the grounds, eat well, drink well and not bother seeing the town! Nong Khai is lovely to though and it's well worth while getting out and seeing it - the staff at Mut Mee have plenty of info about what to see and how to get around - make the most of it!

Mut Mee is still a lovely, quiet place for traveller and also for families. Nice, clean rooms from THB 180 -- up to luxury room with balcony for THB 1500.--

Very helpful staff helps you with your travel arrangements or plan to go further Laos or Thailand

There is only one bad point.
The Government started in this Moment to destroy this lovely place, with building the public walkaway just in front of the Mut Mee Guesthouse (between Mekong river and Mut Mee)

So we wish for all travellers, that Julian fight hard, and keep Mut Mee like it is "a lovely quiet place you always stay longer as you planed"

Its such a shame. We made a online reservation for mutmee guesthouse two days before arrival.
After a 21hour journey we made it there (before 11am as stipulated) only to be told that we didn't actually Have a reservation, our email confirmation from the owner just ment we have to que like everyone else who rocks up on the morning hoping to get a room.
First come first served, 'reservation' means nothing. To be fair the guy who just started working there was really lovely,, but we then spent the next two hours trying to find some where else to stay.

Its ashame. The simple words "we do not take reservations" would have saved us all a lot of hassel.

We offer this traveler our sincere apologies. We will not make any attempt to hide it... we were completely at fault here. We don't often make mistakes with bookings, but on this occasion we did. And this person should not have been left looking for accommodation elsewhere.

In brief, my wife and I were at a wedding which proved to be much further out in the country than expected so were late back on the desk to help. Our wonderful new reception staff was left on the front desk to cope having had inadequate training with the bookings, which was our fault and not his... (And fortunately this writer agrees that he is a lovely man). And finally there were problems with a couple of rooms that were unexpected.

That we had made a mess of the bookings that day is bad enough... that we left this person to look around on their own for another place to stay is inexcusable. This will not happen again.

I've stayed at Mut Mee several times, and always end up staying longer than I had originally intended as it is such a great place to relax and unwind. With its beautiful garden, pleasant staff and reasonably priced rooms, this is one of the nicest, and best managed guest houses I've stayed in.
