Had a quick overnight stay in Nong Khai and chose the Paniaan Resort based on Agoda reviews (booked through Agoda). A very nice place although finding it may be a little challenging. Ate lunch at the restaurant, food was good. Stayed in a Grand House and all I can say is wow. Spacious, romantic and the coffee on the balcony in the morning was wonderful. One nit pick was the walkway through the grounds.. stepping stones and roller luggage do not mix. Needless to say some mud was "rolled" into the room. We are already planning our return trip and will stay here again.

I recently stayed here for a family wedding close by. I found the rooms to be basic but clean and they were cleaned everyday. Fresh towels and bedding. There was free wifi and a great out door pool. Staff were friendly although they didn't speak much English. Hotel in a good location staff are happy to help order tuk tuks. It's in lovely green settings. Hotel is very good value for money.

Rooms were very clean and airy (lots of windows!) and you could tell they were newly built. Rooms well appointed, effective air conditioning, big bed (if not a little hard mattress wise), free wifi, tv, minibar (cheap prices for drinks) and a little sofa and coffee table. Nice bedding (proper quilt but there were a few stains on them). They had a drive for a car

Surroundings very pretty with well manicured lawns overlooking rivers and lakes. A pool which was very clean (at the beginning of our stay but got dirtier after a while as cleaners obviously neglected to clean it. One drawback was that there were only 3 sun loungers by the pool, although this wasn't too much of a problem for us as no other guests wanted to use them.

Breakfast was served under a canopy by the pool area, it was basic and consisted of toast, jam, freshly fried eggs and orange juice/water so only bothered to get up twice for it.

In terms of the service apart from the cleaners who provided fresh towels everyday/ made the bed and cleared out the bins, hardly saw any workers. There is a person in reception that will call tuk tuk's for you if u want to go somewhere like tesco. Also what i'd assume to be free computers in reception

Overall, the really nice rooms, swimming pool and grounds overshadowed the lack of facilities and service. Great value and will definately stay if i'm in nong khai again!
