Third time staying at this resort, when I called to book a 2 night stay instantly I noticed the lady on reception had changed as the lady whom I was speaking too could speak very good english as before it had been problematic.

Once I arrived at the hotel I was introduced to the new owner, a Thai man thats relocated from Bangkok. He speaks fluent english and was incredibly helpful to me and my friends.

The resort complex hasnt changed since my previous visit but the level of sevice has improved greatly. Great stay.

Country typical new resort very nice facility only small houses. The breakfast consists of toast and rice soup with daily changing pad. The facility is clean small but nice pool. The small houses are functional. In the area can get everything.

Room tip: All villas and rooms are quiet in the garden.

The hotel is located near Nong Khai train station and about 4 or 5 minutes from the city center by Tuk Tuk.

The rooms are very clean, comfortable and reasonable in price. The swimming pool is nice and the surroundings quite and peaceful.

The staff dont really have a good command of english so you will need to be able to speak some basic Thai.

Overall the hotel is good and I would recommend it.

I agree with most of the comments visitors have made about this resort.
Its literally about 200 metres from the train station.....go through the car park opposite the station, first left then second left and you are there.
Very nice grounds and swimming pool.We got a small detached bungalow for just 700 baht a night ! A bit of a steal, really. It would probably cost around five times that in somewhere like Phuket.
Breakfast is free but its just a case of pork/rice soup, toast and jam and tea or coffee....just fills you up a bit to start your day.
That said, its a bit out in the sticks......about 4 kilometres or a 10 minute ride to the centre of town and riverside promenade with restaurants and bars.
Its no problem if you have got your own transport but,if not,be aware that the last train to Bangkok leaves around 7.25pm and it could be difficult to find a saamlaw after that time.
The resort has no restaurant and theres just a Thai style eatery and Mom and Pops place for things like crisps and drinks in the immediate vicinity.
A company like Pizza Co. will deliver to the resort, though and you could eat that and have a beer in the resorts reception/lounge area.A large Beer Chang costs 60 baht,so is pretty good value for a resort/hotel.
The bungalow we stayed in was very nice and overlooked the swimming pool just a few steps away.It was clean and the aircon and shower worked fine. There were several english speaking channels on the TV.
The lady who runs the resort is very pleasant but,be aware, its family run so its not all smiles and mega efficient like you might expect in a larger hotel.
But you certainly cant knock the price of a room, the grounds, swimming pool and peace and quiet which make it excellent value for money.
It is an oasis in a nondescript area but see for yourselves.....

Room tip: A standard room is 600 baht, still good value but worth paying the extra 100 baht for a detached bungalow with the peace and quiet that brings.

We stayed 3 nights there, our bungalow was pleasant (not very large but good enough, comfortable bed, good A/C, hot shower etc.) with a small table/chairs at the front. All bungalows have a different orientation to preserve intimacy as much as possible, and many details are very well designed, gorgeous flowers and plants. The swimming pool is perfect (also open to non guests for 60 or 65 baths).
The hotel is located outside the center but 3-mn walk from the railway station, perfect if you arrive/leave by train. The only inconvenient is that you need to first need to hire a tuk-tuk to the center (60-70 baths) if you wish to rent a bike or bicycle - no rental at the hotel and no restaurant at night at walking distance. Cycling to the center is about 15-20 mn.
Breakfast is simple, basically only tea/coffee and soup or toast, but enough to wake up and have something in the stomach before going out !
Wi-fi worked fine in the main sitting area, but irregular from our room : don't expect to get a good connection if your bungalow is at a distance from the reception (but they are honest about it and don't promide Wifi in the room !)
Overall, a wonderful stay if you don't need to be in the city center.

Room tip: Bungalows cost 100B more than the basic rooms and are well worth the difference.

Great place for the price. Our room was clean. They sprayed incecticide before we entered the room and provides a UV moskito killer.
They have Bungalows and regular room. We stayed in a regular room a bit cheaper and smaller but sufficent for us. For us the real plus is the swiming pool area. It's so great to cool down in the water after a busy day of visits. We did not try the restaurant but the included breakfast is very basic. The location is a bit far from the river and city attractions so budget a tuk-tuk to leave and come back everyday. If you like quiet and comfort in a reasonable budget, this is the place to go. If you want great location and atmosphere go to mutmee.
BTW if you need advices and informations you can go to mutmee anyway and enjoy a drink with a view on the river and Laos (which we did).
