Review of Nett Hotel
3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 28, 2011
It was clean enough, very basic, but great location for the ruins, and the old city. Also you can take mini buses to bkk from just around the corner. lots of street stalls. the only thing that grossed me out is that the bathroom had no ceiling, so you can hear everything!

but for a night it's OK.

people who work there are very nice!

due to the flooding in the next city Sing Buri, most hotels were full.
the receptionist Ken was very friendly althoughI had to call him 3 times, because of missing items
- no free drinking water
- no towels
-no blanket/cover

Fridge and TV could not both be online because of a short circuit in the wall also one light was not working
the bathroom seemed to be renovated recently, there was only a dripping rest of water pressure in the 3rd floor. The shower was hot.
the beds were hard like concrete and the sheets were so thin and full of holes.
The walls were stained all over.
Because of the thin walls i could only sleep for about 4 hours, because it was so loud.
my conclusion:
Never ever again.
I hope it helps you to learn from my faults.
The Tai Pe hotel was even worse, so i walked backward out of it.

We stayed here for 1 night, which was enough. The staff was really nice and helpful... although there was no elevator, they ran up to our room with both our suitcases, so that was really convenient.
But the room... hmmm, I didn't really understand why the Lonely Planet described it as 'the best deal in town', that says something about the rest I guess. Bright neon light, hard matress with a bit dirty blankets, no lockers, and just no atmosphere at all. Not the room for a romantic night or something. Airconditioning was nice, but a bit noisy.

But well, it's REALLY cheap though, so you could take it for granted.

You get what you pay for here,
The roof terrace garden is a joke, its on the roof but no view and theres a couple of knackered chairs. Windows only opened a tiny bit as there was a brick wall in front of them
You need your own padlock if you want to leave the room as you dont get a key here
However plus side is hot water, convienent for train and the sights and monkey free

Room was quite spacious and clean window looked out onto a wall about 1 foot away., Aircon worked well and had a ceiling fan also. Fridge, TV(didnt use) and bottled water were supplied. Beds...one was firm but OK, the other was rock hard as if there was a wooden board in the mattress...firmest I've come across anywhere! Luckily I am a good sleeper on all surfaces, but others I am sure would have major problems.
The other odd thing was the bathroom. The room itself was clean and reasonably sized, but the walls were only about 6 feet high, leaving a 3 feet+ gap between the bathroom and the bedroom!
Staff seemed pleasant.

We stayed for 2 nights in an air-con room with a TV, fridge, double bed and a single bed and hot water for 550B per night (under $20 AUS). The room was huge and looked recently renovated. The TV had a few english language channels and the fridge came with free bottles of water. Everything was pretty great except the bed. If you dont like a rock hard mattress with pillow to match then this probably isn't the place for you. I couldn't really sleep the first night, but the second night I was so exhausted that I just passed out.
The bathroom shower drains well, and the toilet is elevated so it doesn't get all wet when you are taking a shower.
The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance. The train station is only a 10 minute walk down the road. If you like fast food, there is a KFC across the road (the only western food chain I spotted). All the temples are quite close too. On Wednesday nights they have a great street market which runs on the same street. The tourist office is a 2 minute walk down the road, and they can provide good free maps of the area. Next door to the tourist office, there is a hostel that rents motorbikes for 350 Baht a day.
Overall, it's a good hotel for a short stay, but wouldn't stay here long term.
