We have stayed in two rooms here as we came back after our first visit. We’re a family of four and for the first 5 days had the private pool rooms which were great, really comfortable, spacious and clean rooms and a treat to have a pool to dip in anytime. We had booked 3 days in another resort but it was awful so came back to the comforts of Tarna which felt like a home welcome! We then stayed in the private villas at the top of the hill, no pools but beautiful rooms and the terraces all have amazing views. The beds are unbelievably comfortable.

The staff have been very welcoming and the GM and Chet have really looked after us.

Diving- our children (12&15) have taken their open water Padi course at the hotel, they have a fantastic training pool In the hotel with 3 depths so we could relax while the kids trained. The diving team here are fun, encouraging and very well trained so we knew they were in good hands. They completed the course and are now eager divers!

This hotel is incredibly good value for one that verges on the luxurious - rooms are an excellent size but perhaps too open plan (esp if you have children in tow), very comfortable beds and the semi-private pools really top it off (extra pool space is a must here as the competition at the top end all have a beach).

The restaurant is decent quality but perhaps tries to do too much and so falls between various stools which means guests tend to wander down the hill to Sairee where there is a lot of choice at excellent quality. As a result, other than breakfast, the Tarna restaurant was often empty or nearly so.

Staff were very friendly and generally efficient though things sometimes got a bit confused when it came time to organise early morning cars to the pier (we dived with Crystal and on 2 of 6 trips to the pier the car was not around despite ordering it the day before).

The biggest plus was how they handled a mix up on our booking - which was as much my fault as anyone's - having thought I had a twin room for our 17 year olds it turned out to be a double. After some discussion they were moved to a bigger room with a semi-private pool. They were delighted and we were all very grateful.

Really great rooms with excellent facilities throughout the hotel and extremely friendly local staff. I learned to scuba dive here and the hotel is really well set up for it, Natty in particular is a brilliant scuba instructor and made the experience really fun and something I’ll never forget.
