...is going there relaxed on a sailing boat.
Take in the stunning scenery without the crowds.
Have nice food prepared for you on board three times a day.
Chat with the friendly crew, or read a book, sunbath while sailing.
We did a 3 nights / 4 days sailing trip from Koh Tao to Ang Thong Marine Park.
We took one of the last minute offers. For this we got the smaller of two cabins which is adjacent to the toilet and reached by crossing galley/crew quarters.
This is not super luxury, but you are rewarded with a very special experience away from the crowds.
First and last day were mainly spent sailing/motoring between Koh Tao and the Park. There is a lot of flexibility in scheduling the things to do during the time. We just had to agree with our fellow travellers (and the weather).
We visited a hilltop with a stunning view point (watch out for those sharp rocks), two caves, the Emerald Lake, watched the monkeys (cute), did some snorkelling (visibility not good) and spent an evening on one of the small, remote beaches (very nice!). The skipper also let us steer the boat and explained all we want about sailing.
Food was very nice and plentiful (Cheers, Fabian!). Our request for vegetarian food was nicely accommodated.
Unless you are allergic to looking at pictures from your holiday, DO bring a camera.
Hiking shoes (or at least hiking sandals) are advisable for some of the hikes.
In retrospect, we should have brought some medicine against sea sickness.
Moskitos come to the boat near shore, so the moskito repellent came in handy.
