Overall, we loved our stay at Charm Churee.

WHAT IS GOOD?
- The private beach JANSOM BAY is beautiful for snorkeling. Non-hotel guests have to pay a fee to access the private beach which ensures that the beach is only used by guests and it is never over crowded. The beach has very comfortable stretchers. Beach towels are given in your room - be sure to take it with seeing as there are not towels given on the beach.
There is a whole shed full of water sport equipment at your disposal. Snorkels are given free to all guests and there are kayaks for rent as well.
The beach has a beautiful coral and fish and is well worth doing.
- The most beautiful setting for breakfast that I have ever seen. The restaurant is on a deck overlooking the see and a piece of Koh Tao island. You can see the fish in the water while you eat. STUNNING. The breakfast was the best I had the whole holiday with abundance of choice as well as very good omelettes and tasty coffee. Ten out of ten there!!!
- The bungalow was well equipped. They provide each room with some fruit every morning which is complimentary and a really nice touch. Linen and towels were crisp and clean and the room was really spacious. The rooms are really quite dark which allows you to have a lie-in in the mornings which we loved. Air con works really well too.
- The hotel is set on the hill in-between lots of trees and had the feeling of staying in a jungle. Really lovely nature seen.
- Staff are very friendly and extremely accommodating.
- The location is also good because it is very private but at the same time a 5 min stroll to the town with lots of bars and restaurants and shopping.

WHAT IS NOT SO GOOD
- Be warned that the terrain is quite hilly and if you are not keen on exercise or you have sore legs, you might want to reconsider booking here. We did a steep climb the day before and found it quite tiring to walk the hills.
- No television in the rooms which could actually be seen as a plus - we would not have switched ours on due to the beautiful beach and the tranquility of the resort.

Room Tip: The bungalow we stayed at was extremely private on the edge of the resort. Nr 46. Loved the privacy. Also on the same level almost as the breakfast restaurant, which meant not so much up and down on the hills. hehe.

By the private beach (but it was just 10 mins from pier), this place made me relax from the hard work for all year long. I had got a very professional massage from high experience massue.

About the beach, it was very private place no one outside could disturb me, there was no noisy, no polution. it was good to re-charge my bettery life.

My dinner, they provided me with exellence services and very fresh food wich a great wine and good sun set view

But you have to know this place is located on moutain. So, you have to prepare yourself for up hill and down hill.

A very great location with private beach. Very nice staffs with polite service. You don't need to take a boat for snorkling 'cos this resort already has a very nice coral at JANSOM BAY. For the Star light restaurant, you will get a very good location for sun set and very romance time for your dinner.

Room Tip: Our room was No.31 which is sea view location

Good:
Rooms - charming, 60's look and has probably not been renovated since. Book seaview with balcony, otherwise you will stay in the djungle
Private beach - really nice for swimming and snorkeling
Spa - Back and head massage was divine.
Dinner setting - on a deck right on the stony beach overlooking the sea.

Not Good:
Food - Breakfast was a cantina-style field trip feeling. Dirty, unhealthy and not many choices. Unattentive staff, lousy coffee. Lunch choices were very few, the pizza was disgusting. There is only the beach bar available since the dinner restaurant only open at 6 pm.
Dinner was OK. Drinks so so. Everything closes at 10 pm, so there is nowhere to have drinks after that.
There are no other restaurant choices nearby and it's even far to walk to the restaurant inside the resort.
Service - no strong management, feels like nobody in charge. A lot of staff everywhere but nobody is doing anything, just hanging around.
No pool.

Family of 6 adults (3 couples) spent 4 days on this resort. 3 deluxe rooms. Extremely nice and helpful staff and management. Excellent breakfast restaurant. Wonderful private beach with lots and lots of fish - ideal spot for snorkling. Short walking distance to town and a few other beaches. Very easy to book diving tours at the resort. Only one recommendation: a few of the trees could be cut down slightly to improve the view from the rooms. This will improve air circulation around some rooms and reduce the number of mosquitoes. Overall impression is: "excellent" - very good value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms close to water have better view. Rooms further from water have shade.
