“Try Someone Else”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

Pick up on time but the driver was downright dangerous. He had no regard for the passengers hanging on in the back of the open truck. Arrived at the run down office and had to wait in a grubby, dirty area for a good 45 minutes. Snorkels were handed out and looked as if they had seen better days. Snorkeling time at each site was too short. The second last site was missed out completely due to a couple of passengers feeling queazy. This resulted in nearly three hours on Koh Nang Yuan. The amenities on the island are dirty, run down. After 30 minutes we were counting down the remaining 150 minutes. Food supplied on the tour was pretty ordinary. Half way into the trip they ran out of water & cold drinks, leaving only beer.
We had the pleasure of the speeding company driver to round off the trip.

“wonderful day, we really got spoilt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

smoothly operated tour, very friendly and nice guides. You get provided with a mask and a snorkel - which is sufficient (because of the short distances and the the getting in and out of the boat, fins are not necessary and would only cause delays and problems). And yes you can change the mask on the boat if you encounter a problem with it.
food is great: after each snorkeling trip you get served fresh and jucy fruits. Bisquits and drinks such as coffee, tea and water are provided at all times. Lunch is a basic thai dish (usually rice with chicken or beef and egg), very tasty and left us full for the day.
be aware that you have to spend another 100 bath to visit the beautiful islands (reasonable price regarding maintenance and keeping the islands clean and sparkling).

After all an excellent tour for a great price. Strongly recommended!

side note: it is clear that the joy during such a tour is depending on weather. So if you have time just check the weather forecast ;-)

“Lovely snorkelling”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

We had a great day, we didn't book till the morning as I'd been feeling a bit 'off' the previous day, 3 agents said we couldn't go on any of the trips, one just made a call and told us we'd be collected in half an hour from our hotel! Fab.
Nowhere on the boat did it say 'Diamond', I think it was turtle something. Pboy was our guide, and he was fine. OK I was one of the lucky two to see a black tipped reef shark at the first site, but my husband enjoyed it just as much and he didn't see it (couldn't swim fast enough!) the next 3 sites were all great , the 5th on the island was a lovely site at the Japanese Gardens had lovely coral, the walk to the viewpoint was good but two hours was possibly a bit long there as it was very open, and we didn't even have a sunny day! Lunch was ok, fruit was good - always welcome!
Bearing in mind our last snorkel trip was the Great Barrier Reef, we really enjoyed this trip, much better value for money! I'm sad that not everyone has had the good experience we did, and glad I had no time before hand to read reviews!

“Great Day Out!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

Went on the day snorkeling trip & had a great time!
Visited various snorkeling location's with between 30-45mins to explore at each one before finally stopping at Nangyuan Island where we had two hours to ourselves (100 baht entry fee extra)
Lunch was included, this was a basic chicken thai dish, unlimited water, tea, coffee all day.
Also got pineapple & watermelon.

Had a great experience with this company, its not luxury but does the job and they provide you with a mask & snorkel.

“Great day out snorkelling”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

A full day on the big blue boat proved to be the best way to explore Koh Tao’s beaches. Our guide on the Diamond boat was called Mark, a native english speaker. He explained every snorkel spot in advance, what we should expect to find or look for. If someone felt worried or anxious – when we swam to spot big (but harmless) sharks -, he would take these people by the hand while swimming, and he gave helpful advise on how to behave in the water. It wasn’t long until everyone felt safe. At every stop, we had more than enough time to explore the underwater world. At lunch, a yummy curry was served, along with fresh pinepapple. During the day, cookies, coffee and water were there for selve-serve. At last, we had a short visit to the Koh Nang Yuan national marine park before we headed back to Mae Haad, where the shuttle services waited to bring us back to our hotels.
Despite all beaches being public, only very few can be accessed by road (as they are private). That’s why you want to know your favourite snorkel or beach spots in advance, as in the coming days you will have to hire a taxi boat to drop you there, and why I would recommend you do this tour on your first day. Bring plenty of sun screen and cover your head and body as much as possible while you snorkel or you will look like a barbequed crab in the evening.
