“Great day diving”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

A friend and I spent a choppy / overcast day doing an intro to scuba. Instructors were great, scenery was beautiful, and everything went off without a hitch. We went out to White Rock and Twins. Great job Ban's!

“Diving Course in Hebrew/English”
Reviewed January 27, 2014 via mobile

We had a 1 star course of diving at Ban's. Our instructor was David Cohen, and honestly, we couldn't ask for a better instructor!

He was gentle, funny, good teacher, very patient and professional. We were in our honeymoon, and it was definitely the highlight of our 1 month vacation, a lot of it thanks to David!

We were a group of four people, all Israelis, and he speaks Hebrew as well so it was awesome. If you want to take the course in English, he teaches English groups as well so go for it!

Totally recommended!!

“Diving factory- rather avoid”
Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

Pros: good equipment
Cons: tea-dipping diving- you will get tank with no more than 180 bars so your dive will be up to 40 minutes (if lucky). Unfortunately that's not unusual in Koh Tao... Also- attitude of staff could improve.

“BANS & BANSTEC”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

This school move my carrier forward, i wish i could go back to 99' and do my OWD with them then :)
Perfect dive school to start your diving experience if you wanna meet new people, professional team and equipment according to standards and some more.
The school is one of the biggest in the world today, operating fleet of dive boats and extensive accommodation and restaurants (and also great beach bar called Fishbowl).
I did my IDC/Internship with Bans Diving (G and Marcel) and before that also dozen of Tech courses with BansTec (Craig and Jeffrey) - up to Full cave stage diver and i am recommending this dive school to anyone interested in diving in general.
I specifically enjoyed first stage cave course taught in Asia (with John Cafaro).
Well oiled machine BANS is!

“Ban's Technical Diving”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

I completed the Tec 40 course in January 2014 and would highly recommend the course as taught by Craig Weger. While the audience seems to consist of instructors and divemasters, both the Tec Basics and Tec 40 course are well worth considering for the interested recreational diver.

Why would you want to do the Tec 40 course itself? The Tec 40 course enables you to dive to 40m and use up to 50% nitrox with 10 minutes of decompression in a dive. You develop propulsion and buoyancy skills that are without over an order of magnitude different from pure recreational diving.

The course itself is intense and holds participants to a high standard. Drills for example are practised while attempting to maintain neutral buoyancy from the get go. Craig’s pre dive briefings and underwater exposition are first rate. Post dive debriefs are invariably thorough and give you feedback on all the points you want to work on for the next dive. All of this is conducted with a great attitude and emphasis on learning.

Why Tec at Bans? At its core Tec diving is about exploring deeper into an unfamiliar environment with a strong emphasis on safety procedures at its core. This requires the right human factors and well maintained equipment. The Tec team at Bans come from engineering backgrounds and really understand how and why dive-gear works. Walking around the workshop it is also evident that a process of total quality pervades.

In short, you’ll get a ton from training with this first rate team.
