Owner description: Jansom Bay is a beautiful white sand beach. One of the best on the island of Koh Tao. The beach is only 10 minutes walk from Mae Haad, the main port town, on the south-west side of Koh Tao. It's good for kids because there is no currents and the water is clear and quite shallow. It's a privately owned beach so a small entrance fee will be charged.

“Jansom Bay - private beach”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Walked to the bay not realizing that a resort owned the bay. It is a very steep climb down to the beach. There was an entrance fee which I would have paid happily if the quality of the beach had been better. The beaches either side of the bay are sandy whilst Jansom Bay was only shingle and stone - painful to walk on in bare feet. There was a sheltered lagoon in which you could snorkel but it was quite small. Unless you are staying at the resort it is not worth a visit. Other beaches are far superior.

“Not nice”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

This beach belongs to Charm Churee villas. Rundown . The beach is small and not pretty. Th sand is hard. They don't let you sit on loungers unless you are staying in Charm Churee, yet we were staying in Sensi Paradise right beside it which is much nicer !

“Lovely small quite beach”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

Nice place to relax and swim, clear blue sea. Beach bar and snorkel hire. Part of the Charm Churee Village so might have to pay to use, if you walk further along up and down the steep paths there is another beach too.

“Hidden little gem of a beach”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

You need to go through the Charm Churee Hotel to get to Jansom Bay. We read that you have to pay something like £2 to use the beach but this didn't happen in our case. The Charm Churee beach restaurant is great for lunch too. This is one of the better spots for snorkeling, lots of coral=lots of fish. it is pretty quiet here and not busy at all. I'd recommend getting some of those rubber shoe things as i cut my foot here on the beach coral. No bother and the staff were very helpful.

“Slightly dirty but many fish”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

We snorkeled there and there was lot of marine life, but the beach itself could have done with a clean by the private resort located there. A shame.
