Because we’ve stayed at Baan Talay resort, it was obvious to dive at New heaven dive and it’s been a pleasure.
The team is very friendly and there is a very nice spirit. Compare to what exist on other places on the island it’s night and day!
Some of the gears start to have a little bit of age, but due to extensive use of it, it’s quite in good shape.
Don’t expect to be in the water on time (what time?) especially if you use the shuttle from Baan Talay, you have time for a full breakfast and the lecture of 4 or 5 newspaper before something happens. But you are on holyday! So take your time…
Despite the fact that they try to get on the spot after the other schools, there is still a lot of people in the water, and above, when we dive. This could not be a problem if the boats above your head would stop their engines.
I’ve been diving for a very long time, and I’ve never heard so much noise in the water on a fun dive! For some moment I thought I was back in the army in the middle of a large harbour! No question why there is no turtle on the island, and if by any chance (which I doubt very much) a whale shark come along it’s surely because is deaf as a post!
Koh Tao as I understand it, is a very nice and very very very cheap place to learn how to swim and eventually to dive (and therefore to lose a bit of hearing), but it is not a place for experience divers who wants to see great underwater life.
My wife had a very nice time at the yoga, a must do for anyone who like this.
Just one last thing, I did not appreciate to do my last dive at 9 m deep in front of shark island (for this I can go snorkelling) because the boat was needed at 1PM and it was the nearest place to the dive school.
I’f you really have to dive on Koh Tao go to New Heaven dive at least you will dive with nice people.
