Really friendly helpful staff. Great place to relax. Highly recommend. It is a little far out of the way from restaurants and nightlife so great if you want to relax in peace up in the hills. It has a great infinity pool with a fantastic view.

For a top-class view of the Western side of the island (including sunset) this is the right choice. The design of the resort is tasteful and services are delivered with a smile. Son the manager is gracefully taking care of all your needs. I would recommend this resort both for hanging out all day at the gorgeous pool AND exploring the marvelous little beaches and bays full of corals and miriads of fish. Just bring a good book OR a good pair of sandals and indulge in all wonderful Koh Tao has to offer. Bear in mind that the resort is within walking distance from the whole infrastructure of Sairee beach (restaurants, shops, . That means about 15 minutes walk with some steep segments. During the night a torch would be advisable but this is a great way to help digesting dinner. If you intend to visit other areas of the island you depend on taxis (Son the manager can help you also) or longboats. You should add about 100-300 bahts per day per person for such services. Even thought the island is accesible by foot, walking in the midday sun can be an exhausting experience. It takes at least 1.5-2 hours to cross on the other side of the island. We did walk until the southern end of the island and it was a memorable experience with all the shops and stalls on the edge of the road.

Room Tip: The rooms with Sunset view do indeed deliver but the noise of boats might be less noticable from the...

Dear Guest

We were so pleased to accommodate you and your friends and look forward to seeing you again some day. It is true, that in high season a lot of tourists visits the islands beautiful bays and coves and as such the traditional long tail boats do scurry back tourists in the day time. Personally I find it an interesting spectacle and love the humming of the boats as they go by and nearly a natural sound. Compared to the noise at the beach both at night and at day time it's really not much in my opinion.

Best spot on Ko Tao, the experience of waking up to that view from our Ocean Infinity room will never be forgotten.

We initially stayed for 3 days with the intention of spending the remainder of the week on another part of the island, however, after an entire day scouring the island on a moped we realised that Aminjirah simply cannot be beaten on price/standard/experience/view on this island.

My only tip for the extremely helpful management would be a little more variety in the music around the pool.

Thanks for an amazing stay!

Stayed for 6 nights and what can I say... Fantastic!
Great location! A bit away from Sairee beach, but within walking distance and renting a motorbike is an easy fix if you are lazy.
Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Nice staff! The cleaning is very good. Rooms very nice.
The pool and the view from the pool is absolutely amazing... :-)
I love being at the beach normally, but didnt even think about missing out on that having this.
I will go back for sure and would recommend the resort to everyone!

We stayed at this resort for 12 days & stayed in 3 different rooms!

- We booked Budget comfort room but they upgraded us to their 'Sky Dance' room for the first 4 days.
- We moved to the room 7 after 4 days but the room was too dark so we requested another room and moved to the room 8 - which was much nicer.

Overall, the customer service was excellent, I have to say the manager looked after us very well and he made us feel very welcome. He was very accommodating to all our requests. Very polite and friendly.

Location - about 20 minutes walk from Sai Ree village - a bit of a walk but you can either be healthy and walk or for 200 baht per day, you can rent a motorbike. We found Sai Ree beach area too noisy so we were glad that we were away from all the loud music, motorbikes, and the drunks.

Pool - Amazing infinity pool where they would often play fairly loud music and another, quieter, pool.... Loved their pools!

Restaurant - Not too overpriced like some other resorts. For examples; Pad Thai was 190 baht, Mango shake 100 baht... western foods were more expensive but still quite reasonable. Good food and the waiters were all very friendly and always smiling =)

Rooms:
'Sky Dance' room - Very comfortable with spacious room and bathroom. Also a nice balcony with ocean view.
'Budget comfort' Room 7 (or as we called it 'the dungeon') - Very dark with small window and a smelly bathroom. While we had this room, we tried to stay out of it as much as possible !
'Budget comfort' Room 8 - it actually has an ocean view (if you lean of out the window a little). Small but cozy. Bathroom was a lot nicer. It almost felt like an upgrade after spending a few days in the dungeon.

Other stuff:
- We saw the special offer on Trip adviser for this resort - '15% credit on food/drinks' - however, the manager was not aware of it when we checked out. We checked their booking confirmation email but it didn't mention about the offer at all (we did confirm it when we booked it)... Luckily, the manager was very understanding and confirmed this offer with their booking department and we were able to get the 15% credit on food/drinks... but we recommend perhaps taking a screenshot of the offer to avoid unnecessary stress!

- The water bottles in the mini bar. There are 4 provided daily. We assumed they were all free. At check out, we learnt that only two were complimentary. The manager probably told us but we didn't know... but now you know. =) They should put a sign to avoid this confusion...

Aminjirah is a fantastic, unique hotel set in wonderful lush surroundings with views that can only be described as breathtaking. In December, we visited the hotel with a fairly large party of twelve people, as we had come to the beautiful island of Koh Tao to get married. Prior to arriving, my now wife and I were a little apprehensive about what to expect from the Aminjirah, especially as some of our guests typically only stay at more expensive five star resorts, and we were not sure if the hotel would satisfy their expectations. We chose the Aminjirah because it looked very pleasant with a price that would satisfy all of our guests – the Aminjirah received a huge thumb up from all of our party and we were congratulated with finding this gem of a hotel.

My wife and I spent seven weeks in Thailand, including some time at a luxurious five star resort that had won numerous global awards, but the Aminjirah was definitely our favourite place to stay throughout our trip. Although the Aminjirah is not a five star resort, and nor does it claim to be, we found it to be a stylish, bohemian oasis that has been skilfully crafted. We found out that the Aminjirah has slowly evolved organically over the last twelve years or so, which means many of the rooms are unique and different to others, giving the hotel a diverse, non-standard feel. We found our room and our guest’s rooms to be sophisticated and stylish with magnificent views. The owners are to be congratulated on the splendid job they have done in designing the hotel in a way that incorporates the interesting rocks that reside in the flourishing green natural surroundings of the hotel. The view from the pool was out of this world, while the use of lighting in the evening around the hotel’s landscape provided an elegant, magical ambiance.

The hotel is a 15 minute walk from Sairee beach, which does include a steep hill that may test the elderly or a person who is out of shape. Walking the hill was a bit of a challenge for our older guests, but that’s the compromise, especially if you want the views and peaceful lush surroundings. Nonetheless, the hotel provides a few trips per day into Sairee, while scooters can be reliably rented from family attached to the hotel at an extremely cheap cost. Most of our party hired scooters, and this is the best way of exploring this beautiful island anyway, so getting around was a fun experience.

I liked the fact that the hotel is family run and the manager, San, a very affable and likeable fella (who kindly upgraded one of our guests to a superior room), can only be described as excellent. San and his staff were friendly, gentle people who were always keen to help. It was very clear that everybody at the hotel is focused on ensuring that the guests are well looked after, which can also be highlighted in the hotel's desire to seek guest feedback and focus on continuous improvements. We all found the food to be excellent, with generous servings, and to be reasonably priced. All in all, I was delighted with the overall experience that was provided to us by the Aminjirah, especially at the very reasonable costs, and it exceeded my expectations. I don’t normally write reviews, as I am either too lazy or too busy, but I thought I would write a review for the Aminjirah to reflect our appreciation for offering us a truly memorable experience. Well done and thank you.

Stayed here for 7 nights with my boyfriend. The plan was to stay for 4 nights but decided to stay 3 more nights. Fantastic pool area with great view, good service and breakfast. We stayed at one of the standard rooms, these are quite basic but a very good deal for the price. We actually had some sea view from our room and it was always clean and nice. There is a 15min walk to the beach/Sairee center, but the free shuttle is great and you can also rent a scooter there which is very practical. The sunset is amazing from the pool area and the staff are very helpful and always smiling. Strongly recommend this to everyone and hope to be back soon!
