I'm just back from a lovely week's stay at Woodlawn Villas. Luke and Michelle are lovely hosts, and their "small" touches make a big difference, particularly their mini guide book and the prepaid mobile phone.  They gave very helpful answers to the questions I asked during my stay.

I stayed in a Garden Villa and found it spacious and comfortable - there is lots of space for two.  The bed is comfortable and the air-con is quiet.

It's a ten-minute walk downhill to Chalok beach from Woodlawn.  With a scooter it's easy to explore the whole island.  Sairee and Auw Leok beaches are about 15 minutes away by scooter.

The pool is clean and secluded, and it's salt-based cleaning  system means it doesn't sting the eyes.

When we decided that we would visit Koh Tao for much deserved diving trip, we looked around at the usual dive resort type accommodation on offer & thought we needed a bit of quite time too. We came across the Woodlawn Villas & liked the look of it from the photo's on their website. From the moment we decided to book to the moment we left, we felt as though we had made the right choice and boy did we make the right choice.

We were met at the quay by a driver who took us to the Woodlawn Villas & was met by the owner Luke at reception. We were a little early for check-in but it wasn't a problem & we went to check out the dive resort, whilst they readied the room. Luke called on the (supplied) mobile a couple of hours later & we returned to find all the luggage already in the room.

The Villa was great, nice bedroom, lounge & small kitchen. This place was very quiet, whilst only a 10 min walk to the (Sunshine Divers) dive centre. You don't need a car here, it's not big enough...... some hire scooters, we just walked.....not a problem. Anyway we had a great 7 days here & would definitely go back again or recommend it to anyone. Well worth the money.....oh and the pool was great too........

Stayed at Woodlawn for 3 nights. Overall superb stay.

Owners Luke and Michelle very, approachable, pleasant and helpful at any time.

Villas are excellent, no problems with facilities in house (own cooking equipment etc.) As long as you keep the doors closed the mossies stay out ( of which there were hardly any). Own tv, comfy bed, shower and loo

Location - great- near to chalok and freedom beach (recommend here) . On the way many shops and restaurants.

A great, relaxing stay. Could not recommend this place highly enough. The island is beautiful, wish we could have stayed longer

I chose this as a place to stay as I wanted to be away from the crowds, noise and backpacking scene at night but close enough to walk to the attractions during the day. I stayed in a Garden Suite for 6 nights which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with great facilities - fully equipped kitchen, comfy sofa, TV and DVD player. Luke and Michelle were both extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay - I was able to check into my room early (1030) after a long journey as the previous occupants left early that morning. When the lights stopped working in my room they were fixed within 10 minutes. They also provided me with lots of useful information and contacts based on my interests, which include hiking (some scenic walks locally!). There is a launderette and supermarket literally at the end of the drive, great little restaurants, internet cafes and Thai massage places within a few minutes walk towards Chalok. Chalok beach is 5-10 min, Mae Haad 20 min and Sairee 40 min on foot so all easily accessible on foot. Failing that taxis are cheap and plentiful. There is free wifi throughout, tea, coffee and bottled water (2 x 500ml/day) provided in the suites and great air con in the bedrooms. This would be an ideal place for couples on a romantic break. I would highly recommend it and hope to return there one day in the future!
