This must be one of the most beautiful of all the beaches on Koh Tao. Unfortunately not readily accessible unless you're staying at a resort in the bay. Great snorkeling.

My friends and I excited biked to Thian Og Bay on a hot tip that we could see Black Tip Reef Sharks. They're only about 1m long - so no danger - but we saw 3 or 4 in total whilst snorkelling to the left of the bay when looking from the beach.

One of the highlights of Thailand for me!

Thian Og Bay is one of the beautiful beaches on Koh Tao. It is private beach and belongs to Haad Tien Beach Resort. White sandy beach and blue color water are fantastic. This beach is achievable not only by boat but also by car. This beach is free ( so far ) for visitors who not living at Haad Tien Beach Resort. There are enough places with shade. I visited this beach during high tide and swimming was fab.

Sure that Koh Tao is a developing island. But according to the fact the people are visiting Koh Tao because of it's beuaty you can hardly understand why this "paradise" is going to be destroyed by the construction of oversized accomodations. They are building a huge new hotel complex now on Tiang Og Bay and in my opinion it's the end for this beach. Ko Tao is too small to accomodate so many tourists. To get an impression, compare with the pictures from the early 90's what happened to this beach now. Dead corals,

The view is great, but the beach is average. There are no seats or and there are no umbrellas for easy relaxing. The beach itself feels like concrete, so hard. We have not seen people who stay more than 3 hours on the beach. In the morning you still have a bit of shade from the palm trees. But there is almost no shade after 11, and you will be driven to one of the restaurants. The water remains very shallow. We had hoped that we had here a nice place to snorkel, but this was not the case. There many boats sailing to and from the beach, so you must look out for them. The view over the water is spectacular. From the hotels in the hills it is sometimes breathtaking. On the beach you can find several nice restaurants. We found the best Sea side, they bake a great pizza. Sit outside, that is the best place!
