“Good for value, could improve a bit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2011

Just stayed there and had really good time thanks to some of staff people and people we met, otherwise could have been an average review.

We got a superior room for 1200 baths per night, small bungalow with balcony, clean with a/c. The view is not like you would imagine, ocean is far and there is electical cable just in front so in the view and it is on the street so sometimes noisy in the morning. Ready some reviews previously i emailed to get room upper but they did not understand my request and anyway there is only 2 superior rooms that are both on the lower level. That was not a big issue in the end as we spent most of the time out of the room. Water was warmish but so hot outside anyway.

At the restaurant and bar, the view is amazing and the stuff just amazing. P-Ai is so so nice, really helpfull and if you are not thirsty tell him because he will always refill your glass of water as soon as it is empty and will insist and always say just in case. Matt the evening belgium guy is cool too, he can help you with diving and beaches etc. those 2 were the persons we enjoyed the most and the more helpfull and always available. That would be why I did not give an excellent review. If you need something else regarding directly the hotel it is a bit harder as the owner Nok is working at the hospital, she is really nice but not always on site which i can understand but Diana at the reception is less friendly and seemed really strict. It was bit harder to communicate with her.

Otherwise regarding location, it is 15min from Ao Leuk which is nice beach to snorkle but do not expect white sand beach, tanote bit futher, bit hard to access, is also really nice for snorkeling. For the rest you need a vehicle, motobike are 200 baths at the hotel, only 150 baths in town so would recommend to do the walk as the hotel moto we had was old, we had, the tires flat so had to go to station and mostly no back break and not the moutain tires as most of the moto on the island.

Best beach for me to chill is chark bay or freedom beach, if you an book a boat to do a island trip,it will cost 2000 baths (2400baths at the hotel) so if you find other people do not hesitate to ask them as we did and split the cost, for 4 only 500 baths for full day and goes and stop wherever you want. Day group trip is 650 baths per person for mini of 30 persons so it is nicer to do the private way.

We viewed other hotel for next time and there is other good values on the beach for just a bit more that worth it if you want the beach by but I can't tell about service and that sometimes you can't put a price on it so I would probaly go back there. By the way food is really good there even though between 1.5 to 2 times more expensive than outside but again being on the restaurant terrace with good service made us felt lazy and eat there few times.

Last thing, wifi is not really accessible from rooms, only from restaurant. It is free but not from the room as said on the website and shuttle to town is only once at 8.45am so that is something to improve to my opinion.

Room Tip: Superior room are fully close so less insect and animal as standard are open from the bathroom but t...

Seaview made us feel very much at home. Dean and PA (Bartender) were extremely helpful and gave us all the information we needed without the sales pitch, which you sometimes find at resorts. The bungalows were great value (be prepared for a cold shower) and the food in the restaurant was tasty and good value. As others have said, you need transport to get about but its nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas. It's very easy to get a taxi or hitch a ride on a bike back from town. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: Stay in the higher bungalows to avoid the road noise

I stayed at Seaview for almost a month and it very quickly became my Thai "home away from home", complete with my own Thai family! The owner, who is also a nurse who runs a clinic on the island, would diagnose my various illnesses, her mother would cook me her amazing Thai dishes in the kitchen (I stopped ordering after a few days and just let them decide what I should eat), Dean in the front office would help with travel plans and keep my scooter running, the Burmese guys in 'housekeeping' would whip together electrical fixes and keep my bungalow spotless, and finally P Aey in the bar would analyse my state of mind each day and provide the necessary humour, compassion, scolding or hilarious anecdote to help me realise what an amazing gift it was to be spending time on such a beautiful island! These people made the experience of Seaview so much more than just a collection of huts with a great view.
To get the most out of your trip to Koh Tao it is really helpful to have some form of transport to get you around the island, otherwise you're going to miss out on something that you shouldn't. Once this is taken care of, Seaview becomes a very attractive option; here you are off in a quiet corner of the island with a beautiful view, and yet you can get to beautiful beaches at Au Leuk or Chalock in a matter of minutes, or into the (sometimes) madness of Sairee Beach for night time debauchery, all the time knowing that at the end of the day/night you can retreat to your quiet sanctuary and your loving Thai family.

Room Tip: The basic 'fan' rooms (eg. room 6) are great value-for-money. The newer AC rooms (eg. room 1...

We really enjoyed staying at Seaview Resort. The owner and her staff made us feel at home right away. The bungalows are simple, but neat. The hotel is located uphill in the rustic center of the island. If you want to go to the villages or beaches, you need a taxi or a scooter. Both are availlable at the resort. If you want to have a relaxing environment with great views and lovely staff, this is the place to go on Koh Tao.

We stayed at Seaview for a week in September 2011. Seaview is located on the eastern side of Ko Tao and has two beaches within a 20-30 minute walk (Aow Leuk and Tanote). We had free pick-up and drop-off to the pier. There were also free taxis to Mae Haad every morning and afternoon. The staff was great, especially the bartender and the scottish guy (can't remember their names, sorry). These guys have great info conserning anything. If you're in search of night life, I wouldn't propably recommend the eastern side of the island, although you can get a taxi to and from Mae Haad and Sairee, but it will cost you more than in the daytime. Altogether, we found Seaview a great place to relax and unwind on the more peaceful side of Koh Tao.
P.S.Food in the restaurant is amazing!

This B&B was okay. We stayed in a room with aircon (which was very strong) and a peekaboo ocean view. The bathroom was so-so (the shower wasn't that warm like another reviewer stated). I guess my biggest issue with the place was that there were small little ants in the room. We wouldn't have noticed, but the ants invaded our laptop which proved to be quite annoying.

The staff at this small B&B were great and friendly. That was the biggest plus. I probably wouldn't stay here again if only because I prefer paying a little more for a clean room.

Room Tip: If you don't want to hear trucks and mopeds go by at night, try and stay further up in the resor...
