We've been to Bow Thong twice, it's quite peaceful but still walking distance from the more lively areas. Even the standard air-con bungalows are pleasant and confy. Food is excellent, view is superb and staff is nice. The owner is (or at least used to be) in active co-op with the animal rescue clinic, so there are a couple of cute dogs hanging around to be patted.

We just stayed there and had originally planned to stay for 2 nights but ended up staying a week because we loved the location. The staff and food is good and even though the management can be a bit abrupt, they are still helpful. It's at the quiet end of the beach, about 10 mins walk into town which was ideal for us to chill out. The resort has sun beds on the beach for guests so it is perfect to relax.

The resort is beautiful, it is at the quiet end of sairee beach and to me the best part of the beach. The staff here are so nice, they are very king and helpful. We had free transfer to and from the pier and the rooms were very good. Breakfast is made to order which was nice. The food here is very good. We ate here most nights. The main town is 10 mins walk along the beach. The bathroom could do with a bit of an update but this i have found quite normal in Thailand, the rest of the room was very good.

We've recently spent a very enjoyable 11 nights at the Bow Thong resort and would definitely recommend. The rooms are basic but clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is situated at the north end of Sairee Beach, approximately a 10 minute walk away from the bars and clubs, something which is beneficial when the music is booming at 5am!

The place is located at north end of Sairee beach, facing west - awesome sunsets! Quiet, yet very close to all amenities and bars in Sairee village, it's no more than a 10 min stroll down the beach. We booked via our dive center and stayed here for 3 nights just recently. We decided to go for the beach bungalows @ THB 3900/night and that was the best idea ever! Our bungalow (number 009) was just 10 m away from the beach, was pretty simple (bed, closet, table with chairs), but clean. Enough space to put an extra, large matress for our kids (regretfully no roll away available, as matress placed directly on floor with possible easy access for ants). The a/c was effective and quiet. The only thing that bothered us was a slight damp smell, but we ventilated the room and got rid of it. There's no mosquito nets in the windows nor a fan either (so all windows have to be closed with a/c running all time, if You don't want mosquitos inside), which is a pity as we'd love to keep all windows open so as to hear the ocean. The waterfront is safe, with a large shelf of shallow water - ideal for kids to play in and swim. Mind though: no pool! The restaurant serves good food, all choices available: western, thai. A fantastic added value is the location of the restaurant front, right on the beach, against great sunsets. In general, the best value on Koh Tao: away from noisy and tacky village center, quality time, a must experience!

Room Tip: Choose bungalows near reception, this was You'll have wifi access all the time. Beachfront only! Really worth the extra dime.
