We did our open water certificate with seashell. We originally chose them, as they were one of the only company's to give us a discount for previously doing discover scuba diving, and it was a fantastic choice. Our instructor Anna was very experienced and made you feel very comfortable in the water. As one of the instructors was sick she had to take more people in the group than expected (usually they only have small groups under 4 people for open water certificates) but still managed to give everyone the attention they needed. She was also great fun! Seashell also are one of the earliest company's leaving for the dive sites in the morning which means there are a lot less boats and people at the dive sites when you arrive. Which is great. Overall an amazing experience. Thank you Seashell and Anna!

stayed in this resort for two nights as part of a group tour, our room was nice and big, the bathroom was huge and it all seemed very clean, only issue was the room smelt slightly of sewage..the others on our tour informed us their rooms also smelt a bit off, we did change rooms and the smell was still there but not as bad. however, we weren't in our room much so this wasnt a huge problem for us. the pool was lovely and it was just a 30 second stroll to Sairee beach, which is stunning. ate in the restaurant one night as they were doing a BBQ and the food was lovely!! Overall, was pretty good for what we paid.

Stayed for 3 nights with 10 friends and family. Staff couldn't care if you were there or not , breakfast was awful and crawling with ants. We never risked eating at the restaurant as it looked poor. Rooms were basic and not the cleanest. The only good thing was central location.

Wish I had good things to say as I loved Koh Tao but this "resort" was a rip off.

To start, we booked our rooms directly from the resort website. When we had arrived, we were told they did not have our reservation, saying something in impossibly broken english about how they do not use the booking company the website uses anymore. Yet, there was no notice of that on their very own website. This caused some confusion with our credit card companies. In general, the website was not representative of the resort whatsoever. In the middle of the resort there seemed to be an excavation (presumably where a new building was to go) just filled with garbage. You know what a giant pit of garbage smells like at 34*C? So, there was that.

Very over priced. Room is of average quality at best. We were woken up every morning at 4:30-5 by the roosters living behind the building, and all the animals around meant it was LOUD at night. Beds were sub par. We stayed in bangkok hostels with nicer beds for a fraction of the cost. Breakfast was poor quality, made worse by the fact that it is served outside and everything is coated in flys. We ended up eating breakfast elsewhere in town.

I hate to say it but the Staff really wasn't very helpful at all. Not particularly friendly, understanding, or accommodating. They didn't seem to know anything about the services of the resort or island. We got a price quote for travel from Koh Tao to Bangkok, and the next day when we booked the same flight from the same staff member, she told us the price was actually almost double what she told us the day before.

The pool was what every pool in thailand is. A pool of very hot, highly chlorinated water surrounded by deck chairs. Not bad, but really just par for the course.

The only positive of this place was it's location to town, and the Lotus Bar, which is the coolest place to go in the evenings.

The only thing I want in a place to stay is good value: basic services at good quality for a fair price. This place didn't deliver. It seemed to offer everything under the sun, but at very poor quality.

The location is central to Sairee and a short distance to all amenities and the accommodatiom was clean and maintained to a good standard. However it was overpriced.

There were cats all over the resort including in the spa. They kept us up all night howling right outside our room. The furniture outside smelled of cats urine. There was a rooster that started calling from 0230 and that continued through out the night.
When I asked to change rooms I was told that it would cost extra.

Thailand has gone downhill a lot over the last few years in terms of value for money and customer-service. The prices are inflating all the time and the once famous Thai smile is long dead.

I must add that the dive centre is well run by friendly, helpfull staff. They were flexible and accommodating, it is a pity that the same cannot be said of the hotel staff who were indifferent at best.

We didn't have anything to eat so I cannot comment on the food. There is a new dive centre under development and this should add to the location.

Koh Tao is a beautiful island but it is not being looked after and I wont be returning anytime soon.
It was such a pity to notice the decline in a few short years, especially in terms of some of the coral destruction.

Room Tip: Avoid anything with a hint of cats!!!!
