“We stayed extra nights”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2011

We'd actually just booked the one night here, but ended up taking the walk down to reception a couple of times to stay longer. Yes there was construction on the grounds, but we stayed up near the road so were'nt affected. Stayed in 2 different rooms as the place was pretty booked. The rooms were fine, no frills, but clean. Nice with the porch area, theres no screening to your neighbour but ours didn't use theirs. Breakfast was buffet style...decent enough. There's no beach in front of the resort, at high tide there's no beach at all. Seemed like they are expanding the restaurant so there will be none whatsover soon. Didn't have to walk far to find a nice place to lie down, although it gets pretty crowded as there's not much beach to share at high tide. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's a popular diving school at the resort aswell, shame we only snorkelled.

Nice location on the beach, dinner served on the beach, very relaxing but rooms and noise not up to scratch.....rooms only ok and over priced.....or last night there was a very bad smell in our room, we informed reception 2/3 times and yet they did not take any notice, we eventually got it looked at and were offered a dorm room on our HONEYMOON.....they were not very nice about it and customer service skills could be improved greatly......also pool very small and very crowded, bungalows very noisey at nights, walls thin!!!! Breakfast - very poor

Unable to use the original room all day, we were still charged full price for dorm....i asked for a reduction for the inconvenience and was told NO, we also did not even get full refund from original smelly room.

Dive centre, very good, scuba diving excellent with excellent instructors, pity about service re: accomadation.

Lovely hotel. We stayed in two different rooms (the room we had the first night was not available for a second night). They both had nice porches, but the first had a glass front, so there was no privacy when you were in the room, if you wanted to open the door. (no window) The second night we stayed in a bungalow, which was a bit nicer, but had no hot water. Both rooms had wifi, which was nice. Breakfast on the beach was nice- OK food- there's a grill to heat stuff up- it's not kept warm on the buffet. The beach was nice to look at, but not the nicest beach for swimming- there are other beautiful beaches on the island. Pool area was very pretty.

This would say 4.5 if I could as the only negative I have was the restaurant, and even that was only poor because of the variety/price in comparison the rest of the area.

We hadn't booked anywhere prior to arriving but had organised my husband to do some diving with a company who picked us up from the pier and drove us to Sairee beach. we took a stroll along the beach and asked to look at the available rooms.

We chose the Sairee Hut for the location, room size and the pool area. We had a delux room which was located in the reception building, upstairs from the restaurant. It had double bed, aircon, hot water, fridge and safe. It was a good size, with a decent bathroom and large balcony.

Breakfast was included and was limited but what was available was good. The beach front pool area was a lovely relaxing place.

The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The room was cleaned everyday and we had left money on the side as a tip for rhe maid which was never touched the whole 6 days we were there.

All in all it was a very good stay, the accomodation was of a high standard and we would be happy to return.

We loved Koh Tao and this resort was very well located but when we stayed it was being renovated. We had 2 phones stolen from our room which could only be accessed by keycard. The staff were always around as they also lived in resort opposite our hut so it was highly unlikely that a break in would occur and manage to find the 2 phones. We did enjoy our stay up until we discovered the theft after we had checked out. We immediately rang and emailed hotel but staff were not helpful and I did not receive any email from the manager. There are quite a few hotels on Sairee Beach so I would recommend finding one that is more secure. Also the room safes were not bolted down.

We stayed at at least 5 different places in Thailand, and this was one of the best! We had booked a bungalow that exceeded our expectations by far. The bungalow was big, clean, modern, had all the equipment that you need (fridge, safety-box, clean sheets, closet , mosqito nets on the windows etc) The hot water worked as expected- sometimes the hot water wasn't steaming hot, but in 35 degrees climate, thats ok. The fan and the ac worked fine. The only negative thing about the bungalow was that maybe it was a bit pricy. But for us it is more important to have a good standard, and if you are willing to pay, the Sairee Hut Bungalows are the place for you! If your'e looking for the cheapest possible then you should really go somewhere else.
