This was our second visit to Phi Phi and the hotel was extremely basic and run down for what we paid for. The beds are hard as rocks, the bathroom water smells when you first turn it on and the power cut out about three times while we were watching TV. a huge caution to anyone who walks to the hotel room at night as the path ways are dangerously neglected and easy to trip up on. For the price you pay to stay in this place there are far better options available.

Room Tip: There's not much i can say to anyone after a good room because as far as i can see there aren...

We booked the Don Chukit out of last minute desperation- because of the number of tourists, quite literally everywhere was booked out. We tried to contact the hotel directly but that was deemed impossible after many unanswered phone calls, so we booked through Agoda. We booked a double room and requested an extra bed as there was 3 of us. On arrival, we were told that infact, the hotel did not have extra beds and we would have to pay a considerable amount more for a triple room. This would have been fine- except their 'triple room' was infact a double bed which had been moved to slot an extra bed next to. This meant the occupant of the extra bed also had the corner of a sharp wooden bed head in the middle of her bed. The Don Chukit was a bit expensive for us to begin with, but the promise of a hot shower and air con also lured us in. We arrived after 20 hours of travelling only for the power to cut out and we had no water at all for an extended period of time, let alone hot water. The whole room was just grungy and rather outdated. When the time came for us to leave one day earlier than expected because of a change in travel plans, it was an absolute headache trying to negotiate with reception staff, who insisted that we would have to deal with Agoda and it wasn't their problem(even though they had no trouble taking an extra 1500
Baht cash per night for the 'triple room'.)
Thankfully, Agoda was most helpful and managed to refund the 3rd night as well as negotiate a 10% discount. The only positive thing about the hotel was the location- but there is no way we would return and I will recommend it to noone.

It's near everything, they did clean the room every day, however, it is rather worn-down and the shower water smells, that smell is found in many hotels in Thailand. Besides the water smell, it is fine for the price and the location is very convenient.

Room Tip: I think they group people by nationality. It looks like the rooms near the sea shore are better than...

We stayed here for one night two years ago and left because it was so dirty. We arrive back in phi phi yesterday and searched for a place for a couple hours. We decided to give don chukit another chance since it had been renovated a bit and they added a pool. The location is great and the room was only 1200 so we said okay for one night. We asked them to clean the room before we went in because it smelt moldy. Thought it just needed to be aired out. The room was got was completely redone and newly tiled. Though maybe this hotel had turned it around. When we got into the room I could tell all they did was spray the room to try and mask the smell. Not a big deal I guess. The real horror came when I took the blanket off the bed to look for bugs. I didn't have to look long.... There was ants covering the sheets. I mean like hundreds and hundreds of ants. I have never seen something like it. It was the most disgusting thing ever. My husband went and demanded our money back since you have to pay up front. I went to the lobby to get someone to show them. The staff just sat there and didn't seem to care at all. I finally said get up and come here I need to show you this. One lady came and as soon as she stepped in the room she screamed and left. We got our things and left. We ended up at jj resident guesthouse and it has been awesome. The rooms are perfect, clean and spacious, a great view of you are on the top floor. The staff is so nice and helpful. Spending 1500 a night and it's worth every penny. They also have a pool and it's a short walk to either sides of the island.

Pathetic room, rude staff and dirty 'thai style' toilets- sums up this $hit hole called PP don chukit. This place is extremely pricey for what it is.We were duped in booking this place by our concierge at our phuket hotel. We arrived to an unwelcoming staff and dirty sheets. The nightmare was a Thai style toilet which though has a western seat but misses a tank/flush/shaft. You need to pour water over your doings with a bucket. The funniest part of the room was the ceiling fan which actually is a table fan that's somehow reached up there. When we asked for another room we were quoted an extreme amount. All in all, I'd never go there again and would recommend staying away from this horrid place

The first impression at the reception was okay, but when we arrived to our room we found the hotel totally disgusting. The room was filthy, and had also other inhabitants: cockroaches, centipedes and ants. Outside there were a lot of aggressive toads, but also many friendly cats. We were lucky to have insect-repellents with us. The beds were poor and hard. Fortunately we only stayed for one night. I clearly do not recommend this hotel. There is a minaret close to the hotel, waking you up early.
