Bungalow was great - be sure to book the beach front bungalow,
restaurant was poor, food was boring with no favour. much tastier food on the island however you can only eat at the resort restaurant.
Service was ok but the French man running the place was rude.
There is better places on the island to stay.

Just like Ko Phi Phi tere are things to love and hate about this place. The rooms are pricey for what you get (you're paying for ko phi phi and the private beach) and you get nickel and dimed when you're here. It's a 150 bht taxi service from the ferry, you need to pay for snorkel gear, you have to buy beach towels, and you have to pay for wifi. All these things should be free, especially with what you pay for the room. However the food and bar is good and moderately priced and the staff, overall, is friendly. There are some really great waiters and bartenders, some others are just learning and doing their best. The private beach is nice with some good snorkeling, and the tour packages are also well priced considering you have to do them if you want to do anything outside of the resort. If you want a good resort and don't want to pay for a premium place, this is as good as you'll get on Ko Phi Phi, but there are lots of hidden costs and in general, Ko Phi Phi just isn't worth it. You can find great hotels and resorts for a lot less in places as beautiful as Phi Phi. Ko Lanta and Ao Nang to name two. If you feel you have to go Ko Phi Phi just look at a map, find a small island, find a place to stay on that island, and go there. It will be awesome and you'll be ahead of the curve.

As you may gather from my review title, this was the stay from hell. You arrive in Phi Phi to see a man with the hotels name written on the back of a clipboard making you aware you will need to get on the hotel boat to get to the resort, it is not until you get to the resort you realise you have to pay for this service, the only other option is a 45min treck through the jungle and this is just the first of many money sucking methods this resort uses. The resort is set up in a way you either take an expensive taxi boat into the main (nice) area of the island or you treck through the snake infested jungle, an easy decision....if you decide to stay in the resort your subject to meals that are three times the price of meals I had seen anywhere in my 3 months in Thailand. Moving on from the money grabbing you try to make the best of the resort and the "beautiful" surroundings, unfortunately the beautiful surroundings are non existent, the beach disappears for 22 hours a day when the tide comes in, there is no room to go for a walk as evrey bit of land on the resort has been built on (but that hasn't stopped them creating new bungalows further back into the jungle) so once again your only space is in the dining bar....This is the kind of place your heart sinks when you realise the money you have forked out for it, I have to say travelling in Thailand was pretty rough sometimes but Phi Phi Relax tops the charts when it comes to the worst place to stay.

Room tip: If you HAVE to stay here book a beach front room, any further back and your sitting on a cockroach nest

We stayed for three nights in a relax bungalow. The bungalow was large and clean with mosquito nets and a fan. All the bungalows are cold water and the electricity is only on from 6pm until about 6.30am so the rooms end up getting very hot.

We had B16 which I believe is the worst bungalow in the resort, or so the staff insinuated. We got a lot of raised eyebrows and everyone knew which hut we were in. It was fine inside but it was just behind the kitchens and the toilets as well as next to the staff quaters so not the best views and also quite noisy. I aske dto be moved as it was our honeymoon and my husbands birthday, but they said it was easier if we stayed in the room. However you are right next to the beach so we did not spend any time in the room so it was not a major problem.

The beach was lovely and the sea was nice and clear. The food and cocktails were great but were very expensive compared with the other places we stayed on the island. The resteraunt staff and bar staff were very friendly. The receptionists were not very hospitable however. All but one light bulb was broken in our bungalow and it took two days for them to arrange for someone to change it even though I asked many times and even said I am happy to change a bulb if they provide it. Another thing to watch out for is that they give no details about boats or what time to check out. We were told there was a 8.30am boat to Krabi which we paid the resot for. However, the boat was actually leaving from the other side of the Island. We only found this out from a waitress in the resteraunt.

I would recommend staying here for a few days as the resort was very nice. However it is by no means luxurious and was very pricey based on what you get. I am glad I went, but I would not personally go again.

Room tip: Get a beach front room and don't go for B16!

I Will be as constructive as i can with this place! PHI PHI is a bit of a rip off but I will come back to PHI PHI at the end of the review.

It cost us the best part of £80 a night for 2 of us to stay at Phi Phi relax beach and for that you dont get Air Con (just a fan) no electric between 6am and 6pm and no hot water! the huts where very primitive! if this resort was not on Phi PHI it would struggle to get 1000 Baht a night for its rooms! also they insist on you putting everything on account, we was there 2 nights and things appeared on our bill that we had already paid for, so keep an eye out on what your charging, or try and pay cash for everything!

the resort is on a secluded beach which was very nice, but the only possible way to reach it is via a long tail boat, as we got of the ferry there was a guy holding up a sign with phi phi relax on it, and he was waiting for all the new arrivals. once he got all 13 of us to the resort on check in the receptionist took off us all 150 baht each for the boat ride, nothing was said about this charge on there website, for the money the hotel charges for the rooms you would of thought this service would be included! then on the return boat trip the price went up to 200baht a person for the same trip!

The owner is French, and was a was not interested in talking with the "non French speaking" guests.

the beach was nice to swim off and do some snorkelling, but while we were there there were some very aggressive fish that where about 3 or 4 inches long that liked to bite anyone that came near them, my partner got a nasty bite!

the food was ok and also not badly priced, but cocktails are quite expensive!

All in all it is a nice place but if they are to charge those sort of prices, then they need to improve what they offer considerably!

Phi Phi is a spectacular island with nice beaches ect, but it seems that the whole island is 3 to 4 times more expensive than the rest of Thailand!

I think it would be a lot better and cheaper to do a day trip to see all Phi PHi has, rather than stay in extremely over priced accommodation!

Room tip: dont stay on the island, as you pay way over the top for basic fan rooms! do a day trip from Phuket, Krabbi or Lanta instead!
