We stayed in the Paradise Bungalows recently.
I have to say that overall we enjoyed our time here. We enjoyed the beach, especially the snorkeling and the very relaxed vibe. It was a very nice place to chill. Because I had read the reviews prior to booking, I went expecting the fees for the boat trip and the higher food/cocktail costs (all true) so took that all in stride. We were there for the light festival and they did a lot to make sure customers participated.
However some things just left a bad taste, considering the price we paid:
-difficulty accessing Internet because employees were camped out on the computer
-poor communication, we wanted to book a dive trip either from the resort or from Tonsai but after multiple email and call attempts I did not get answers to my questions
-broke a glass trying to order food since I was trying to position the menu to show the waiter whose English was poor in the very dim lighting and they charged me 100 baht! Considering how much we'd spent over three days this should tell you the resort's mentality!
So consider this a lukewarm recommendation - some nice things but go with knowledge on the drawbacks. It just pains me as the place has much potential to be one I want to go to again and again but alas, it is not there.More
