“Definitely a great place to relax”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights of our honeymoon in August 2011. We stayed on the bungalows on the beach - I would definitely recommend staying in these and not further behind. Yes they are basic, but ultimately it's all you need for this part.

Highly recommend the walk to the view point, remember to take a stick to hit the floor with as you go along as there are snakes, we didnt see any though, probably because we did hit the floor as we walked along. However we did see a huge, Comodo Dragon/Iguana type thing - he lead the way for about 10 minutes, it was great.

The Staff are incredible and like to play volleyball with you. Definitely join in as it's alot of fun. Food is beautiful, although because you are limited for choice, ie, one restaurant - it is a little more expensive than other places, but still very reasonable and tasty.

There are mosquito nets, make sure you take spray as the cabins are not sealed.

Room Tip: Definitely stay on the first row if you are able.

We stayed for 3 wonderful, memorable days in 2 bungalows on the beach - simply paradise and probably the best place to stay on the island. The staff are casual and easy going.... The walk through the jungle to the viewpoint is worth it, as well as the boat trip to Koh Phi Phi Leh...despite stacks of the tourists.

The price of food is relatively high, probably because you are a captive audience...

It's a great place to 'relax'....on the beach in deck chairs.

Beware, more bungalows being built which means it will get busier, perhaps losing some atmosphere.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and be on the beach...

I stayed at the resort last christmas with my girlfriend. This place is perfect for couple looking for a romantic getaway or for a family vacation. The beach and surrounding beaches are so beautiful it's almost seems fake. The food and drinks were excellent. I recommend taking the tour around the islands. Bamboo island, maya bay and monkey beach are must see's. If I had to say anything critical about the resort I would be hard pressed. The staff wasn't super friendly, but they were helpful when needed. I guess the only negatives would be cold showers, which isn't a big deal and mosquitos. Realistically the mosquitos are pretty brutal anywhere in Thailand though. It's not really a big party place, but a great place to unwind and finish your vacation in thailand:)

Room Tip: All the rooms seem pretty good, just understand that there's no hot water. Also electricity is...

This place is as Paradise :). Everything has 10 points. Beach like from Bounty advertising, bungalow will make you feel like Robinson Kruzo on desert island, and food ...mmm. All employees were so welcoming. Speciall thank you to Boy. He will make for you best coctails.

Enjoy this place :)

Room Tip: We had Bungalow with beach view. Sunrise and Sunset in front of you. Beautifull.

I booked at Phi Phi Relax after noticing that it was one of the rare accommodations on Phi Phi which did not have disastrous reviews. My staying there confirmed what I thought: it's one of the best places to stay in Phi Phi, which does not mean that it's that great - the standards on this island can be pretty low, despite the hefty prices.

First, I was a bit taken aback as I was given a mountain bungalow even though I had payed extra to get a garden bungalow while booking. This was all the more annoying that the mountain bungalows are close to the noisy generator. Take care where you end up, because it might not be what you paid for! Then, I was a bit disappointed by the restaurant, where the food is rather plain and really not good value for the price, at all. At least the cocktails were rather nice.

The staff and management are very nice, and the beach is quite beautiful for Phi Phi. There is a decent coral reef with a good number of fish, which can be easily accessed from the beach when the tide is up. As the beach is remote and can be accessed only by boat, it's pretty quiet. It's a good 20-minute boat ride, which means that few speedboats come and unload tourists to snorkel off that beach, so you will be left alone most of the time.

This also means that you are quite far from town and stuck, unless you're willing to pay the hefty fee of a long tail boat or able to find other people who want to go to the village with you. However being isolated for a few days can be really nice.

The bungalows are affordable, extremely clean and in pretty good shape. You will occasionally see cockroaches but well, you're in the jungle after all. There are loads of mosquitoes which will pester you but once under the mosquito net you can sleep peacefully with the fan.

My suggestion would be to stay a couple of nights at Phi Phi relax and book one night in the village if you want to do some shopping or go party. There was not really any party vibe there, most people were couples or families who kept to themselves. More a place to relax than a place to socialize.

We stayed here 2 nights en-route to Ko Lanta and it truly is a wonderful place. Staff is friendly, the food was certainly better than many places in Thailand and with hammocks and massage tent on the beach, what more can you wish for... do wake up early and watch the magical sunrise!!! Beware though, dont stay too long as you will run out of things to do... personally, I'd say a maximum of 3 nights, 2 days... and if your only option to sleep is the main building, perhaps try something else... most certainly aim for the beach huts.

Room Tip: Go for beach hut, NOT the main building... we stayed in the main building and that we would not repe...

where do we start.. we arrived at the resort, in fairness, all seemed well and very nice. We then began to realise how trapped you are, you have nowhere to go but the small "beach" if you can call it that and your hut. Food is extremely expensive and so plain. We both had steaks, burgers, pastas and noodle dishes all of which were of a poor standard and for the price you pay you would have expected much more. Sadly you have no other option than to get a boat back to the main town which will cost you £3 per person, which doesnt sound like a lot but added up just to get dinner becomes rather pricey. They also do not inform you that when you are picked up from the port you pay £3 a head for your taxi to the resort. Accommodation.. all i can say is that if you are a nature enthusiast then this is most definitely your place. We experienced snakes, giant monitor lizards, cockroaches, newts, bats, lizards and spiders ALL a metre away from our room. Spiders, cockroaches and lizards were regularly attending our room in the evening, providing us with the worst 4 nights sleep we have had the whole 5 weeks we have been away so far. This is not helped with the bathroom being open top, an easy access route for bugs. Sadly we were so disappointed with this stay, had a lot higher expectations of it and were completely bored the whole time. I would say that the staff are trying to get as much money out of you as possible through trips, taxis the lot. Stay somewhere in the main town for some freedom!!!!

Room Tip: IF you do decide to stay here, MAKE SURE its a hut near the front, after our experience of bugs etc...
