Phi Phi Andaman Beach Resort
Ranked #20 of 38 Hotels in Ko Phi Phi Don
Reviewed December 16, 2013 via mobile

We stayed for 3 nights in December.
It's not really 4 star hotel but it is perfect for a stay in phi phi.
The location is perfect if you want to avoid the crowd, shouts and drunks at the village center as it is 10-15 minutes walk in the boardwalk.
Beach bars are 5 minutes walking distance, mini markets and laundry are next door, fruit shakes for the pool are just in front of the pool.

We took the luxury room but we saw that the deluxe room (no bungalow) will do the trick also.
Only different is that the luxury is in a new (year old) building and the mattress felt better.
Rooms are clean, with a small fridge, no safe however.
The shower is nice but it took me sometime to understand that the instant water heater will work only by holding the shower cap.
Don't stay bare naked without shutting the curtains... People can see you across the building...

Give the air-con few hours to start cooling the room and it will work great, the pool is nice to break a bit from the beach.
One bad thing is that the breakfast is awful, avoid it!!!!

Stayed: December 2013

Good hotel very close to the shopping area , bars and restaurants. I would recommend to go to woody bar for the fire show, they are the best. We lay by the pool every day and we love it. The let down part is the restaurant sucks and they would make more money our even please the guests a bit more if they had someone serving/delivering drinks at the pool. The room was ok bed is a bit hard and shower drips. But I guess being in koh phi phi is ok. Overall experience was good the only bad part is we are leaving this paradise but we will be back.

This hotel has lovely staff, we had a staff member waiting for us when we arrived off the ferry and walked us to the hotel and carried our bags in a cart. The rooms were clean but small. The power went off at random times for a few minutes and then came back on which was annoying when we were sleeping as when we woke up the room was very hot as the air con needed to be turned on manually. The pool was great and the beach was opposite the hotel. It was a little far from the beach party (about 20-25min walk) however it is close to bars and shops.

There are 3 resorts within a very short distance of each other and they are (from west to east)--"Andaman Legacy Resort", then "Andaman Resort" and then "Andaman Beach Resort." I can tell from the reviews and photos posted here that they are all mixed up and confused between them. This makes it almost impossible for anyone reading to get a correct opinion. I am staying at the middle one "Andaman Resort" and that is the only one I can comment on. They have bungalows in front and then a new building at the back. The bungalows are a little worn out and after looking at them, we opted for the new building at the back which is great. The value here is very good for Phi Phi. The condition of the rooms is great and there are very nice people running the place (manager John). So I would highly recommend it if you want a great place in a good location on this island.

We have stayed at this hotel for 7 nights.
I was disappointed!!!!!
I should have relied more on tripadvisor "terrible" reviews!
First of all we are a couple traveling with a young daughter.
We haven't been offered any baby cot but the bed was spaciuous enough for the 3 of us.
I have seen some baby cot
Around the hotel and i wouldn't lay my daughter in there!!!!
We have booked the deluxe twin room and we felt happy to have spent that little extra money cos the basic bungalow looked so depressing and gloomy from the outside.
Our room was well presented, with private balcony and very spacious...the bathroom was a surprise!!!!!!
All rusty, seemed not cleaned for ages, toilet seat broken and with red staines, the shower had limescales everywhere, just with basic toiletries...it didn't looked good at all!
We got over it,and tried to get used to it!
Breakfast: terrible!
They have 4/5 choiches of thai food, one fruit choiche, bread, and fresh egg cooked on request.
I have only enjoyed the yogurth with cereals.
My daughter had nothing whatsover!
The pool:terrible!!!
We would have avoided if travelling with no children.
The pool itself was nof bad,not too big but good size..the pool sourrindings were awful!!!!
Broken and dirty chairs ,if you lay underneath the trees you will def end up with aunts crawling all around you and bird's foul!!!!!!
Avoid it!
Last but not least at night time near the deluxe rooms there is the frogs concerts!!!
They start at dusk til middle of the night, and they are very loud!!!
There is nothing you can do that having your ear plug with you!
Pp is an expensive area but i have been to Pp casita (less expenside) twice and enjoyed far more than this hotel ( shame Casita does not accept children!)

Stayed here for one night, booked a deluxe room... That it was not! A nice looking bungalow, inside dingy, old, creaky bed, brown decor, a hose for a shower...not nice! We went straight out to explore the island and felt lucky we were only staying the night. When we got back that evening the room stunk of smelly toilets, so I decided to complain. The reception staff were very good and moved us into a much nicer room, in a block at the back if the complex, the decor here was much newer and the room clean and ideal. This was done at no extra charge. The pool was nice. Lots of flies at breakfast so we gave it a miss!

There are 3 hotel properties with basically the same name but we got lucky on the 3rd try. Our room was in the 3 story building at the back of the property. No elevator and the white tile floors were very slick when wet. The phone in the room does NOT connect to the front desk and no contact number was provided. Pick up a business card at the desk for the hotel phone number. The lighting in the room was very interesting but not very efficient. The shower was inviting but the low water pressure and wildly variable temps. made it an adventure. Be ready for the twice a day call to prayer from the Mosque over a LOUD speaker. Quite a walk to the beach but our room would most likely be safe in a Tsunami. Breakfast was easily forgettable but pretty restaurant area.

Room Tip: If you can't easily climb stairs while carrying luggage, stay away from the buildings in back.
