“Rude rude rude staff, so unhelpful and unknowledgable”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012 via mobile

Rude staff, I booked this off booking.com, thank goodness -would highly recommend them as they are helping us out as they charged bank card in error for things, said we were refunded and still waitings so the websites helping us sort out.

I have travelled to Thailand 3 times so am well aware of their service standards and lack of English, thats all fair enough, but when you are paying over 3000 bhat a night you expect at least a bit of higher service.we asked to speak to a manager when we had the credit card issue as we could see thy hadnt refunded it from the slip and they pointed to another guy and they laughed as it was more like the cleaner. Just frustrating and pathetic. Stay away! We did and moved to place right next door which had better pool (theirs looks like a pond) and rooms and cheaper! I will put up a review of that when I check name as they are all very similar but think its the phi phi villa.

We travelled (flashpacking) round Thailand for four weeks, this hotel was one of the most expensive at £60 a night.

We were met off the pier by a member of staff who took our bags and we walked to the hotel which was about 15 mins through the bay, for this service it was 50 Baht per person which was well worth it.

The hotel itself is old, tired, run down and dirty. It is very basic. We stayed for five nights which was to long.

The room was dated and the cleaner would only come if you hung the sign on the door, Even then she only made the bed but left the decorative cushions laying on the floor. There was no other cleaning done, our bathroom sink was never cleaned, we spilt make up on it and it was there the whole time, the soap residue was also not wiped away. (The hotel did not provide SOAP so we had to buy it)

Our room was the first along the corridor where the cleaner kept their trolley, we were woken up each morning by their radio. Most days we weren't even left loo roll. The bed sheets and towels would often have holes in!!

The hotel is used to feed boat trips, during the day the hotel was inundated by tourists coming to the island. It was very hectic and not relaxing. There were tour guides shouting and the tourists would invade the pool. Occasionally the pool man would shoo them away and show a sigh saying they couldn't use the pool. The pool area was also dirty and the furniture was old and filthy, all of the umbrellas were broken. When we complained we got a nervous giggle from the young receptionist who said she didn't understand!

Breakfast was basic, worst we found. You were given plastic plates and cups which were all stained, made me feel ill. There was also lots of staff which congregated in the toilet waiting for tour boats, this made us feel a bit awkward about using them.they would sit on the sink area chatting.

The hotel was also used for over night trips so it had a high turn over of guests. In the morning at 6.30am we were also woken by the guides waking them by banging on their doors shouting as they walked down the corridor.

You had pay 450 Bart a day for WIFI but we were given it for free, but you could only use one device at a time on it!!

The only thing good about the hotel is the location and the constant hot for a good shower.

Would not stay there again even for free!!!

Koh Phi Phi Don is a great place, and during this visit we spent a few nights at the Andaman Beach Resort, which we found on the web without knowing anything about it. It's a mid-class hotell I would say. Located at the far end of the Main road, by the TonSai beach.

The room was clean and tidy, furnished in a green-brown color scale with a small patio facing the courtyard. Breakfast was served in the restaurant, by the sea...and was of rather poor quality, and sparse.

Outside, by the hotel bungalows you find the pool area, which consist of two small pools - large enough to cool off, but that doesn't matter since you are probably not on Phi Phi to lie by the pool.

A 5 minute walk (nice walkway by the ocean), and you will end up in the middle of the town, with all commerce and restaurants. If you walk inte the other direction, through the jungle, for about 10 minutes, you will find Long Beach, a really nice place to swim and relax.

I do not recomend this place if you search for a wester-standard hotel. The place is locaded a bit out of town, but close to long beach wich is absolutely amazing! The place is expensive, and the bungalows is in need if renovation! Breakfast is okey. The good thing with the place is the pool and the nice and helpful staff!

Room Tip: Visit long beach!

The breakfast is not good for ocidental, but you can buy near there in the bakery and mini market. The swimming pool is not the same as the pictures of the site, it is look line dirty. The wifi is free and excelent quality, buy you can use only one device per room.

We booked to stay in this resort for 2 nights and if we liked it we would have stayed another 4 nights here but upon arrival they insisted we had booked a room with two single beds! We had it in the email 1 double room, we had to stay in the 2 single beds and move the next morning..

The rooms were clean but small no deluxe which we had booked. The staff are rude (well I found this in every place we stayed).

It was a little out of the way not in the centre of everything..

To say I was disappointed with this property would be a massive understatement.
I originally selected the resort based on website photographs of their family room bungalows but discovered they must have been taken several years ago because the resemblance now is marginal. My disappointment was increased when we arrived at the hotel, the reception staff were curt, bordering on rude, then the bellboy showed us to our bungalow. The lights did not work, maintainance quickly repaired, then the AC decided to play up, maintainance man again. We had a look round the bungalow, what a sorry sight, old, sad furniture, poor finish all round, decent beds I must say, no safe box and this was a worry with the state of the rickety lock on our front door, no hair dryer and to save the worst for last the toilet/shower room. Some brilliant designer decided that the shower facing the WC was a good idea, not so, by the time mother and daughter had passed through the space was awash. The toilet area never really dries properly in the humid conditions and mould is prevalent in corners and cracks.
This resort is fairly typical of post tsunami Phi Phi. The demand for accommodation outstrips the supply and the hoteliers can charge as they see fit and supply little quality at a high cost.
Oh, I forgot to mention, there is a fair amount of construction going on at the resort and at the neighbouring property, feels like a building site. Yes, I was very disappointed.

Room Tip: This resort is a fair walk from Tonsai Pier.
