“She said yes!”

This was our last stop on a whirlwind, week-long Thailand vacation, and a wonderful opportunity to relax in seclusion. With such incredible views from our private stilted bungalow, I took the opportunity to propose to my girlfriend! She said yes, and we spent the evening on the private balcony, watching the sunset over the beautiful island of Koh Phi Phi Don. Obviously, this hotel will always hold a special place in my heart.

The location in general is absolutely stunning, but I would not recommend staying here if you have any interest in visiting the small island town. We were swindled by the lone boatman willing to take us the 15 minute trip to town, and it was even worse on the way back, where we were almost stranded for the night! If you stay at Koh Phi Phi The Beach Resort, you're better off literally staying there the whole time, with the exception of a boat excursion to the smaller uninhabited neighbor island to see the picturesque hidden bay where the movie "The Beach" was filmed. You can arrange for this through the hotel, and the prices are fixed, so you won't be ripped off by an opportunistic boat driver.

Other than the boat-ride swindling, and an abundance of ants in the hotel room (which are probably inevitable in these type of bungalow structures), we had an incredible time, great food, a gorgeous beach, and the best views imaginable. Would recommend and would definitely return!

Room Tip: Higher up the hill means better views and more privacy, but also requires a ride to/from the lobby...

Whilst the views and appearance of the hotel are most probably the best in the long beach area and even in the town, the hotel is badly organized and explored. Most of the facilities have really short open schedules and some of them are even randomly open like the diving center. The rooms are good but have alot of room for improvements suchas the showers, the doors and other overtures to the outside which can invite some friendly geckos to say hi. The hotel also should provide a regular transportation to town since the path through the jungle is trecherous for some people and makes a short walk take over 20 minutes obstacle course experience, with all the extras you can expect in a jungle (bugs, frogs and snakes!).

I do however highly reccomend this hotel, since in comparison with the surrounding it is vastly superior and good value for the paid money.

When reading the reviews and booking this hotel I was in two minds due to some negative reviews but this place was truly amazing and the best place we stayed in Thailand.

Great views, great snorkelling from your own private beach! there are a few rocks but only if you go in from the side if you use the centre then it's just sand.

With regards transportation you can get Tuk Tuk's at any time of the day no matter how rough they only difference is at night they don't go straight to the resorts platform. They stop about a 1 minute walk away on Long Beach not the miles everyone has said.

Will go back to this resort next year and is highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful location! The rooms were spacious with beautiful outdoor bathrooms. Our view from the bungalow was like a picture on a postcard. The price of meals and drinks were cheaper then the mainland. The night time fire twirling was so much fun. We would definitely stay here again!!

If you are going to Ko Phi Phi to find paradise, this is the resort for you. The view, especially from the deluxe villas, is absolutely amazing. The beach and water are perfect.

To reach the resort from the Ko phi phi Don pier after a ferry ride from Phuket or Krabi, a hotel representative will wait at the pier with a sign ready to take guest to the resort via a long boat. Because a long boat ride is required to get to long beach -- where the resort is located -- the area is uncrowded and clean.

Once you are at the resort, a long boat to the main town on the island (Ton Sai Bay) cost 150 baht. Honestly, Ton Sai Bay is hectic, polluted with liter, overcrowded, and generally irritating. However, if you are going to Ko Phi Phi for the main purpose of partying, you would want to stay on a resort in the Ton Sai Bay area and surpass staying here.

Again, the views are amazing and I recommend spending the extra money to stay in one of the grand deluxe villas. If you are in one of the higher villas, an employee can take you to your villa or pick you up whenever you like in a golf cart. The villas are beautiful inside and air conditioned.

We found the customer service was excellent. Additionally, the food was pretty good. It is overpriced for the area, but there is cheaper food located a short walk down long beach. The breakfast is quite extensive.

My only complaint is that the tour the resort provided us was the worst. We booked a snorkeling tour with the beach bar because the waves were too high to snorkel at the resort that day. the long boat driver was drunk, rude, and his boat was a hot mess. I believe this driver's boat was called either Mr. Yellow or Mr. Sunshine (just to warn you). We had made clear to the beach bar that we only wanted to take a long boat out to go to snorkeling sights. He first took us to a beach that was substantially less impressive than the beach at the resort, had no snorkeling, and cost money to enter. He did so because he wanted to hang out with the other long boat drivers at this particular beach. The second sight he took us to was called Mosquito island and it was beautiful. However, none of his snorkeling gear was functional, let alone sanitary. It is a shame that the resort is associated its name with such crappy tours. If you want to go on a tour, take a long boat to Ton Sai Bay and book it there with a company that knows what they are doing.

We had a fabulous time at this hotel. staff were friendly the setting is very nice rooms clean and specious (especially the new white ones). Breakfast was varied and delicious (we are vegetarian and there was plenty). The beach is amazing. The bar is a bit expensive but you can always go 5 min. down Long Beach to other restaurants to grab a bite. There is a good Long Tail Boat service to town (100 baht per person one way) for us it was a bit expensive (5 kids) but for smaller parties its fine.

Room Tip: try asking for rooms that are not up on the hill (its kind of a drag to go up hill every time )

We booked three villas for one night. At first, everything is just fine and acceptable. But when we checked out, we met the worse hotel manager we've ever seen. We are assigned two beach towels cards for each room. When the reception staff gave us the cards, she never told us we have to keep this card, or we will be charged 500 baht for one card!! My father returned three used towels to a hotel staff, but she didn't return the towel cards back to my father. My father didn't ask her for the cards because he didn't know he's supposed to get them back. When we checked out this morning, they told us if we don't return the three towel cards, we will be charged for 1500 baht in total. We asked them to check their towel record book, and it clearly shows that we have returned all three towels. But they insisted us to pay for the penalty which is ridiculously unreasonable. Then their "manager" came. We expected her to know the knowledge of dealing customer conflicts well, but it turned out she is even more rude and ridiculous. First, she used discriminative words towards Chinese. We were upset hearing that and asked her to apologize, then she replied "You are also impolite". The girl that collected our towels was standing beside and keeping silent all the time. The manager didn't even double check with their staff, but insisted to search our luggage. I've recorded it and posted the video on YouTube "Worst hotel manager ever Phi Phi the beach resort". In the end, she even yelled at us " Don't come to this hotel any more. Stay somewhere else." I can't believe such a person with no respect and bad attitude can be the manager here. She ruined ever good thing of this hotel and turned our good travel experiences to bad. I will also report this to Thailand Tourist Authority. For people who plan to stay at this resort, be careful of their traps!
