“The highlight of our month in thailand!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

We stayed here in 2010 at the end of our month trip in thailand. Unfortunately it was for only 2 nights, we could have stayed for a week. We picked one of the rooms at the very top of the hill, so it was a bit pricey compared to other hotels on the island, but it was during the peak month of January. The views are incredible, the location is perfect, and the food and bar on the beach was fantastic. They had the days catch out for guests to pick, then will grill it up for you right there on the beach. If we ever make it back to thailand, we will definately come back to ko phi phi and stay here. I have nothing bad to say about this place. There was music into the late hours at a nearby bar, but it was good reggae and the people who ran it were very friendly and fun, we hung out with them both nights we were there.

Room Tip: Get a room atop the hill for the best view, its worth the extra money just to sit on the balcony and...

We visited phi phi island and we too a cruise to phiphi from phuekt. The location of phiphi beach resort is nice but the hotel is average, though there are a lot of things you can do on Phi phi the cruise is nice the snorkelling is really good, the reef is quite extensive.

The hotel is near the main road so tends to get bit noisy and over crowded and the food is average, though the shacks lining up the pier near the beach are nice and cheaer also.

Where do I start? The island is magical and the resort is in the perfect spot. The seafood is delicious and the staff friendly. This place could truly be A plus if it cared about certain items.
First, the beach chairs and umbrellas look like they belong at your 80 year grandmother's backyard in Boca Raton, FL. Old, plastic, no cushions and the umbrellas are all rusted. There is nobody around in the AM to help you "build" the plastic chairs they stack up every afternoon. Then when you pull up after being picked up by a longboat from the pier, that area, is littered with trash!! What does the port tax go to? Not for clean up. When you walk the beach and take the trail into town from long beach the entrance is also full of years old trash. It was horrible to see. It only takes a few trashbags to clean this up! (are you listening Phi Phi island Ministry?)...The noise wasn't even that bad with the new buildings they are putting up but the internet never worked! We ran into a man who we asked if he was the manager and he responded with "yes, but I am suppose to be off today. Is there something you need?" Well, not with that attitude! My mother in-law's beach towel had blood stains on it! So many little things that simply add up and these are easy things to fix. Come on, ya'll get on it!! X

Pros:
- The location is beautiful
- The beach is marvellous and private so it is a total relax
- The setting is very romantic
- Evening dining is a lovely experience
- Friendly and attentive staff

Cons
- They build lots of new apartments/cottages so it does get very noisy

The apartment was 5 out of 10 because:
- There were little gaps in the wooden floor in the apartment
- Toilet lid kept falling off
- The shower was not very powerful and it was very tiny plus it didn't have any door or curtain so the whole bathroom floor gets wet

Overall, although the hotel complex is lovely and the beach is gorgeous, the resort is overpriced. The price doesn't reflect the value. In Thailand and generally in Asia, for the price per night you pay at this resort you can get much much more elsewhere.

We stayed at this resort located at Long Beach in Phi Phi Don during four days including New Year's eve. We chose a front side deluxe villa, which was very well located, with stunning view on the beach but not too high at the hill. The room was absolutely great, clean and comfortable. Bathroom, toilet and shower are in separate rooms, the best being the shower in a spacious covered area with glass-less windows opening to a fantastic view on the far cliffs on the other side of the island. Restaurant was OK, somewhat pricey for the quality of the food, but there are other good options on the same beach. The nice thing about the resaturant is you have your feet on the sand! The beach in front of the hotel has a great snorkeling area right there, so you can feast on observing hundreds of colorful fish as if in a huge aquarium without needing to leave the area. The hotel crew had organized a huge party for New Year, with lots of food for all tastes and senses, games for the children, little fresh flower brooch, entertainment (which was not that great since it was too lenghty and not enough exotic nor western-style to keep their attention on). But the final moments before midnight were terrific, with thousands of white paper baloons being distributed by the hotel staff, lighted by the hotel guests and released at the beach into the dark, starry skies. At the hotel premises there is a diving school, Blacktip Scuba, with very kind and helpful personnel, and a spooky bar with daily fire shows at the beach after darkness, where you can also hire long-tail boats to the town (10-min trip, 100 bath per person) and to day trips to any locations around the area you might want (prices depend on duration, but start at 1200 bath) - very convenient! Phi Phi is an amazing island, and provides several days of entertainment, including observing the backpacker crowd at the town (if only to recognize how nice and quiet Long Beach is). In summary, we highly recommend this resort and Phi Phi!

Located in the paradisiac Ko Phi Phi Don island is this wonderful resort. From the Tonsai pier you can observe all the bungalows beautifully laid out on the mountains. As you arrive to the pier you are bombarded by the quantity of tourists that arrive on all sorts of boats, but don't fret, despite not asking them to pick us up at the pier there was a person waiting for us to take us on a small boat to the hotel. As you arrive you receive a refreshing complementary drink and a quick check-in.

My brother and I stayed at bungalow 109, and even though the website said that it didn't have an ocean view, it did. The room is spacious, with cable TV, air conditioning, and a balcony; all that you can ask for. My parents stayed at the more glamorous 22 line bungalows which are definitely majestic. Theirs (2204) had a spectacular view of the islands, being able to watch the sunrise and sunset from the inside, a modern and ample bathroom, and a flat screen TV.

The private beach is breathtaking. The sand is white and the water is crystal clear, and it is certainly an experience as you swim with small fish.

The restaurant has a menu that offers all types of foods, including western and Asian (the spicy Tom Yam soup is scrumptious). The wooden/straw house that serves as a bar, lights up with all sorts of colors that attracts guests and visitors from other hotels arriving due to the great ambiance, the fire jugglers' show, the lively music (from electronic, reggae, and pop), and the deliciously concocted cocktails (do try the piña colada).

The breakfast has a wide spread of goods, from fresh fruits, three different types of cereal (including muesli), two different sorts of yogurts, eggs cooked to order, breads, pancakes, among others.

They have different packages for you to visit the surrounding beaches. For 1500 bahts per two people (300 baht per extra person), you can take 3 hours to visit The Beach's movie Maya Beach, and go swimming and snorkeling (you will see all the characters of Finding Nemo!) at different points of Phi Phi Leh. At night, my brother and I went to dance at the popular Slinky club over at Tonsai pier. There was always someone at the hotel who would take us for 150 baht per person. No matter at what time you want to return to the hotel, you always find a boat willing to do so for the same price at the pier.

The only not so positive aspect was that during our stay the WiFi did not work at all, but they said this rarely happened. For me that had to do some work while on vacations, it did affect my stay, but for others who are just looking for 100% leisure, it certainly won't represent a problem.

Last but certainly not least, thank you Joke and Sakai for all your help and kindness during our stay!

This is a difficult one , the setting is amazing, We had a deluxe room which the view was just as we dreamed of the rooms were big clean with a good bathroom and wicked shower .
It is a long hard hike to the rooms but we are fit and didnt mind this, You can get a buggy if you can find them .The sea is so clear and clean
Sun loungers had no mattresses so couldnt lie on it so we had to may 100 bart a day each to the bar next to the hotel.Breakfast is terrible the worst ever ... tried some lunch ok
Christmas eve buffet was disgusting we left and went to get food else where
The staff were ok didnt seem intrested inthe guests
So why did i give it v good , form reading other revbiews I half knew , but we wanted the setting and the view so it was worth it shame if the hotel cahnged their attitude cleaned up the dinning area and bar it wouyld be perfect , Not worth what we paid

Room Tip: get a deluxe high up sea facing
