About 5 minutes walk from pier, good quality hotel just next to the beach. Really neat and beautiful villas. Good and nice service. A bit noisy in night time because of the restaurant which is located next to the hotel. Breakfast was good. Wifi does not work at the room, but in public areas it worked.

most hotels in phi phi cost more than the rest of thailand.. but you cant exactly blame them as everything they need to sustain has to brought in from the mainland. this island was ravaged by a tsunami but has been rebuilt beautifully. the best thing about phi phi villa resort was the beach right as you step out of the hotel. the restaurant in on the beach. it is comfortably away from the main noise out the street but isnt too out of the way.. which is good considering walking and maybe a bicycle is the only way around the island. the breakfast was good but u get tired with the same fare. the restaurant serves really good food and drinks.
the rooms are nice save the showers. the water is very very salty. after a day out diving .. trying to wash the sand and salt out of our body is a futile exercise.. add to that the water pressure is very low. we had taken to brushing with bottled water.
the pool is really peaceful and nice .. and despite being peak season it wasnt very crowded.
the service is ok.
fantastic island though.. if we come back .. we are staying here

We stayed here for 6 nights recently in a deluxe bungalow. Location is perfect for a couple, a quick 10 minute walk into the main street hussle and bustle of Tonsai but still with all the dining, bars and shopping close by. The beach is just across the footpath, and the pool is perfect for kids or adults! The double day beds are fantastic! The room itself was pretty dated, but typical Thai style and what you would expect on Phi Phi. The bathroom however was pretty poor, they've gone for a simplicity look which is fine but the drain in our shower kept blocking, the water pressure is terrible and the smell coming from the toilet was pretty feral.

The included breakfast was lovely, pretty good variety for what they advertise for a "simple breakfast". Only complaint is they don't change anything from day to day so after 4-5 days your ready for a change.

The gym was also closed whilst we were there, seemed to be staff or family living in there? Not sure but this is something they should mention on there website or booking engine to notify potential guests.

Overall we had a pretty enjoyable stay at Phi Phi Villa Resort, I would rate the hotel as a true 3 star resort.

Taking into account the annoying repair works constantly going on, the less-than-satisfactory breakfast (no butter, just margarine, low quality bread etc), bathrooms more suitable for a 500 Bath per night place, etc., this place is not value for money even taking into consideration the ever-rising Phi Phi accomodation prices.

This was our second time in Phi Phi Villa (June 2012). I have to say that the first time was much better (January 2010). Pool was going a renovation as mentioned before. They said that there is a big pool (the sea) that we can use but that's not the point. If you pay for the pool you expect it, right? Secondly, they have build a restaurant with the ugly fence at the beach...? Before it was so nice bohemian restaurant here...so why this progress?

Well, maybe I don't choose this hotel again but I have to say it is still one of the nicest in the island. Rooms are really nice. I hope they will get the pool ready soon and also the rubbish bags of from the beach. It would also be better to break down the fence and keep the beach more "idyllic".

Upon arriving at Phi Phi, we booked this hotel from the 'agency' at the harbour. Very impressed when they sent a man with cart to collect our bags, and we were given a refreshing drink and cool towels at reception while checking in. Unfortunately it went downhill from there.
Our bungalow was very nice in itself. A good size, and comfortable, with bottled water each day. The bathroom, though, appeared to be unfinished. The walls were half tiled and half plastered. Not sure whether they were supposed to be full tiled, or the plaster was due to be painted!!
When we made our way to relax by the pool, we were met with the sight of a mini digger, excavating at the far side of the pool (no mention of THAT while we were booking!) This digging continued all afternoon. Very noisy. Fortunately the following days did not consist of any further digging, but still manual labour was going on. They made an unsuccessful attempt to disguise the work by erecting a green mesh net. The pool, whilst usable, was not kept clean, and we had to request someone to come and clear all the fallen leaves which were covering it, one day. Luckily we didn't spend much time at the pool.
Also during our stay, there was one bungalow having it's roof replaced, and other building work going on just behind our bungalow. Work started early morning, so lots of noise which woke us up.
They also charged for wifi, but found it was on for free, in the bar across the pathway, which also reached as far as the hotel reception area, which was near the pool.
Despite all the building work going on, we still paid full price for the room, and even had the audacity to charge us for the umbrella we had used, but accidently broken - about £4!
Aside from the inconvenience of the work and strange bathroom, the accommodation and location was very nice.

Room Tip: Check that any building work has now been finished! This could have been going on, because we went o...

Where to start? No pool, it's being refurbished. Looks like it'll be nice when it's finished but frankly I would've preferred to have a non-lumpy mattress, comfortable pillow and a toilet that flushes! Yes, staff unhelpful, at best. The beautiful view was spoiled by the rubbish from the pool refurbishment. The "private" beach is shared with anyone from anywhere who wishes to use it plus many boats. Swimming in the ocean in the morning was nice, but in the afternoon it left a greasy feeling on ones skin. The noise from the beach bar, Carpe Diem, is from mid morning til late. We went to sleep with the thud-thud of the bass... Even at midnight. There is a public path that runs between the villas and their "private" beach. We stayed in 2 "luxury beachfront deuce family villas". Obviously there was a problem with the translation as I couldn't dream of applying the words "luxury" or "deluxe" to these 2 villas. In a 3 night stay in one room the chair, which was wobbly, brogue; the shower head fell off; &, finally to cap it all off, the toilet blocked up. Both rooms' air conditioners were on their last legs. All four double beds were wobbly and lumpy. Did I mention the drilling noise going all day long as they worked on the pool outside our villas? At least it wasn't our honeymoon and no one died... But, frankly, I don't think I'll ever return to Phi Phi. We also hired long tail boat and driver from the beach outside villas (advertises fir Carpe Diem) & whilst we were off the boat my sunglasses went missing. Be warned: take nothing of value. At least they are replaceable!
Finally, there was no "cable" tv, no replacement of drinking water, towels, glasses, no rubbish removal. Once we checked in we were forgotten about! So that's ourPhi Phi island experience! Yuck!

Room Tip: Do not stay here unless you can negotiate to pay only about 600Baht per person per night. There are...
