“The view is what makes it lovely!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night, on a unplanned, unexpected overnight trip to Ko Phi Phi.The views are to die for! The beach and the water are breathtaking!
The hotel is nice, clean, and right on the beach. The room was pretty, a little dated, but it didn't bother us. The bathroom is nice and quite large. We didn't have any expectations so for us it did the job. The location and views made up for everything else. The breakfast is OK, nothing special, it's food. The ladies at the egg station looked quite bothered, but the people at the reception were very friendly. I asked for some bread for the fish and they were more than happy to help me out. By the way, take some bread and throw it in the water and all kinds of amazing fish come right up to the shore. It's amazing!!!
Also, you will need to take a taxi boat to get here. There is a path through the forest, but it will take about 20-25 min to get back to the pier or from the pier to the hotel. Despite this, the location is amazing, very quiet and the beach is not nearly as packed as the other ones.

We spent 5 nights here in a deluxe bungalow, number 407 which is right next to the reception. The room was pleasant with a large shower room and decent air conditioning. It overlooked the path leading down onto Long Beach. We found the beach to be amazing, beautiful white sand and blue water and the beach was usually not crowded. We walked to Ton Sai along the path next to Paradise Pearl Resort one day and were glad to have chosen Long Beach as Ton Sai is extremely touristy.
The breakfast included in the room rate was ok, banana pancakes with fresh melon were a highlight. The dinner was ok as well although most of the restaurant staff seemed very surly. Having said that though, the reception staff were very helpful and sweet.
If you go left out on to the beach and walk a couple of minutes, Phi Phi The Beach resort has a beach bar at the front of it which does cocktails and fire shows and if you walk through that resort to Loh Moo Dee beach, a nice day can be spent snorkelling on this peaceful secluded beach.

Didn't stay at the resort, but three of us from our work retreat went to their restaurant with the intention of doing a working lunch. When we arrived I asked if wifi was available, since we needed internet to work. The staff said yes, with a 300 baht purchase (around $9 USD). They pointed to a sign that said the same. After we ordered, the staff gave us a slip of paper with an id/password, which up top said "10 m". I asked for the manager, and when she came I asked why the sign or her staff didn't mention that we only got 10 minutes of wifi when I asked. She said "yes, I didn't mention it" and smirked, with no further explanation. She seemed fairly proud to have successfully deceived us. The food come fairly promptly, and was fairly good, but the portions were very small. The wait staff were a bit surly and inattentive but in general okay. Overall, this place is a poorly, deceptively managed scam.

We book here for practicality as my friend has MS which means that walking up and down can be a strain. So this large bungalow was just ideal....can't miss it right by reception and opposite the lovely long beach.
4 of us stayed in the bungalow, it was ok, kept clean daily and indeed perfect location.
I don't thing it's us a 3* more like a 2 plus!!!
Our room was dated, furniture so out of place, shower room, just what it us....so for what we paid, we could have stayed in a nice big hut/ bungalow at Viking.....but next time I ll certainly will do.
BREAKFAST: the worst ever. ( I come to Thailand every 2 months) and this breakfast was one of the worst, the ONLY nice thing there the banana pancakes and fruits. The rest is simply not worth having. The lady who does the omelette is rude and just do a basic omelette.
DINNER: last order 8.30pm and you pay before you finish.....it's ok, basic but the stuff are simply not there to serve you....
When we challenged the lady saying "come one you will be paid when we have had all our order and when we have finished our meal" she said pulling face " I am tired I need to go yo sleep"
What???? we could not believe what we just heard....
Appalling behaviour, this place is run by novice.
I shall remind the owner, that we come here and pay to receive a service that you have to provide no matter what. We don't expect great motivation or professional stuff but some kind of polite approach, kindness and friendly staff. There is none of this at Paradise ( more like hell)it's like a burden when you want something......wake up guys, smell the coffee, I love the situation of the hotel THATS ALL, you need to better yourself......a lot.
but your rudeness is the worst so far.....I for sure will never come there again, but will definitely go to VIKING.

One person who was very nice is the reception guy, he was polite, charming and efficient!!!

When using the wifi, each time you finish make sure your switch off your wifi as it only allows you a 10 hour slot, but we always ended up asking for more etc...

The massage is very good, in front of the bungalow, they are often busy and rather nice and clean don't think they are " attached" to the hotel.
The drinks, beer etc are also cheap at the hotel, so since the nearest 7/11 is mikes in Phiphi just buy yours there...
Eating wise: we had a lovely meal at the Beach, on the actual beach, turn left and at the far end a nice restaurant with fresh fish and very nice Thai food.....big portion too....
When we ventured in Phiphi centre we discovered Le GRAND BLEU wow....amazing food, cheap wine like 700baht a bottle but the best food ever.....do not hesitate go there....

So long beach is fab, viking is great, paradise hotel resort needs to get a lot better....a lot better indeed....attitude of stuff..negative and rude.

But up to you guys, it's basic but expensive for what it is...but then here you font stay in your room all day so for a few days it's OK.

Room Tip: The in front of the sea bungalow at 4800 don't go for back row!!!

This review might sound harsh and subjective but trust me, this place is not good. So where to start? We booked a beach front bungalow for three people. The bed was not in the room when we arrived and had to request it again. "the bed" was a dirty, thin, peeded (you could see the marks of pee) that took at least 30 mins to be brougth into the room. The bathroom looks like a costruction site and it was full of mosquitos. The master bed was ok. The exta bed was intended to be put in the middle of the room, blocking nearly all the walking space. Mosquitos were entering the room through the bathroom. Once we had noticed all of these incoviniences, we decided to cancel the reservation and go somewhere else. The staff was very rude and impolite. The manager was very unprofessional and did not care AT ALL about our concerns. The price of the room was definetely more expensive compared to other hotels, and the room in the website is advertised completely different to what it actually looks like. Just stay away and find a cheaper nicer place, which is possible, or pay a bit more and stay at a nicer place..but this hotel definetely is not worth your money.

The staff are so helpful and friendly, they organised many trips for us all we had to do was pay. The bungalow was lovely, we were given water every day, the bed was huge and very peaceful environment. I would just suggest more light in the room. The beach is stunning and the location is perfect. Phi Phi stole my heart the island is beautiful. Breakfast at the hotel was fab! We had massages on the beach by reception, the best massage we had in thailand!

When we eventually arrived at the accommodation we were greeted and shown our rooms right at the front. Yes they are probably needing some upgrading and they do have newer accommodation if you request it. Air conditioning worked and bathroom adequate. Breakfast was good.
