“Good but quite”

Long beach was the nicest beach we saw on our travels in Krabi and we stayed in the paradise resort which was nice enough. a few comments and tips; the little restaurant in the paradise pearl next door was also some of the nicest food we tried. Its a small long tale boat ride to the backpacker spot at the main pier but the longtail boats back to long beach stop at around 10ish really ( seas get choppy after that ) . If i knew then what i know now i would have stayed in the main area and just gone to long beach on day trips ( 5 mins in the boat for €2 each) because as a young couple who want to stay up later than 9:30 -10 this place closes at that time so nothing to do but go back to the room.
Also we stayed in a beachview bungalow the first two nights as that was all they had but moved to the modern thai room after , i would recommend spending the few extra bob on the modern room as the first bungalows were very basic. Also note in rainy season if it rains the boats stop so it can be tricky to get to the main pier if you wanted to get off the island etc
also note though the beach is fab , the sand is very stoney in the water and uncomfortable to stand in

We stayed for 2 nights at Paradise resort. The resort is located at long beach which is 10 mins long boat ride from Tonsai Pier.

We checked in room 403 and the view was amazing. It opened right in front of the beach. The room was clean with a nice mosquito net. Food was average and we had to walk to the paradise pearl resort which is 200 m from paradise resort. The resort restaurant remains closed during low season.

The resort also arranged a 3 hour trip to maya bay, monkey beach for 1500 THB.

Its a perfect getaway with white sand and turquoise water right at your doorsteps.

The hotel is located towards the end of Long Beach. Although we couldn’t get a room with an ocean view (we showed up without a reservation) our room was huge and clean, with a big bed, hangers for your clothes, flat screen TV mounted to the wall, A/C, hot water, shampoo, body wash and soap dispensers. Outside there was a comfortable sitting area. Wi-Fi is only available for free for one hour a day, and you have to let the office know ahead of time.

Their restaurant isn’t open during the rainy season (when we were there), so we had to make the 5 minute walk down to Family Restaurant three times each day for our meals. This seems strange, because Paradise had a lot of people staying there, they could easily have done good business.

The best reason to stay here is the beach. The beach provides a peaceful view of the ocean, without all the boats crowding the area like around Ton Sai. Also, the tide never really goes out so far, so there’s always water there, unlike the area in front of Viking Resort, just a short distance away.

We paid 1,600 Baht/night (about $55) and would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed in August. The location is great-right on quiet, beautiful Long Beach with a view of Phi Phi Leh. There is no noise at all.

For 1900baht in low season, rooms inside were average but did the job.

The best thing is the location. It's a half hour walk to the busy town or a short long tail boat.

Getting back at night is not easy! Boats weren't really around and it's not a walk to do at night. We had to scramble home in a storm in the dark! However, if you are not going into town, this isn't an issue.

In low season, you have up use the Paradise Pearl restaurant which is a 5 min walk. The setting is beautiful as it's right on the beach and you can eat all meals watching the ocean. Food is very fairly priced, varied and tasty.

Overall, Long Beach is perfect if you want to have a slice of nearly paradise without the parties - but the ability to get into town too. Night times are very quiet eg dead by 9.30 - but remember getting home from town after this time may involve a long walk (not good after a bucket -and definitely not to be done alone).

Wow, where do I start? I guess we need to get some perspective here. We stayed in July and Agoda vastly reduced the rate of their flagship room, the Seaview (£55 down from £150!!!). We're a couple of teachers and came here on the back of BKK, Koh Tao and 3 rainy days in Railey Bay. Decided to treat ourselves as we were half way through our travels.
In the off season there is no transfer from the port but it was easy enough to get a long boat for 100baht each. On arrival in paradise, Long Beach simply takes your breath away. Turquoise seas, white sands and of course, the stunning view of Phi Phi Ley.
Check in was easy, very friendly staff who spoke good English. As they led us up to our rooms our jaws hit the floor. The pictures of the Seaview room don't do it justice. It is STUNNING!! Upstairs is the best room in the hotel (for £55!!!!!!!). Great view of Phi Phi Ley, huge bed, huge bathroom, sofa, tv, fridge, free coffee and water... Superb.
We're both very active so are happy to make the 25minute walk into town (alternatively you can get a longboat for 100baht).
Walked up to the stunning viewpoint, had a great boat trip on the second day, lots of shopping in Tonsai, amazing weather, great food in the Paradise Pearl (100m walk away).
What also stuck us is how cheap Phi Phi is !!! Easily the cheapest place we've been to food Chang, Food and dodgy Oakleys/RayBans etc :)
Couldn't recommend it more :)

We stayed here for four nights in a first beachfront room. Last year we stayed in a deluxe beachfront, and we found that the only difference between the rooms was that the deluxe beachfront was newer.

The view, as always, is spectacular.

Paradise resort is far enough away from Tonsai to not attract the party crowd, however it is still close enough to conveniently visit Tonsai if needs be.

There are three restaurants and two bars all within walking distance on long beach. We found that the restaurant at the beach resort (mentioned in our previous review) has gone down in quality of food and up in price over the last 12 months. We ate twice at the blue moon at the far end of the beach which turned out to be a great find.

Although you don't go to Phi Phi to watch tv, one great advantage for us was the availability of Setanta sports tv channel (astro supersports3) enabling us to watch every rugby league (NRL) game in the room.

A big change from last year is that Wifi is now free for one hour per day (at the reception area). Last year we could only get 10 minute lots which were expensive. The reception has computers if you don't have one.

Staff were friendly and efficient, although the longtail boat organised through reception seemed expensive.

The massages on the beach here are the best we have had in Thailand. They are an absolute must!!

Having stayed at both Paradise Resort and Paradise Pearl, we would definitely choose Paradise Resort, and we will be back there next year.

it was very easy and quick for us to get from Tonsai Bay to Long Beach by taxiboat. In low season theres not many people so its easier i guess. Taxiboats are organised from the very friendly reception staff at the resort - no problem. You can go anywhere you want from there by boat, allthough in comparison to other places in Thailand Phi Phi is quite expensive, still very reasonable for us. We hired a private taxiboat for half a day twice, went to Bamboo Island and to Koh Phi Phi Leh (Maya Bay) - absolutely wonderful and the taxiboat stops as long as you want anywhere to walk around or snorkling (1600 Baht for 3 hours). The bungalow in first row behind the massage area was great, simple but clean, air conditioned and fridge. You get free water every day they clean the room. The restaurant in the paradise resort was closed so we went to the restaurant next door. The menu was huge and the meals very beautiful, breakfast wasn't that great. You staff there was neutral, you could see that they were a bit fed up from tourists from high season. But if you are friendly and interested to speak a bit of Thai, they will be friendly too. The beach was unbelievable beautiful, we had a great view out to Koh Phi Phi Leh. Internet access available, lots of cats around (we loved it), lovely massage, quiet resort with opportunity to go partying and having drinks in a bar next door. Interesting walk/climb through the forrest, other resorts, treehouses and local bungalows to the town. We loved to be away from civilisation. Lovely for a few days on Koh Phi Phi!
