“Lovely location on Long Beach”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

Really enjoyed our stay at Long Beach, such a great location. Stayed in a new bungalow which was clean, spacious and very comfortable even with an extra bed. Only downside of room was the terrace, which is right next to the next bungalows terrace, could do with more privacy. Breakfast was fine, with different choices each day and a nice outside area to eat at. Staff not very cheerful or helpful, so spent money elsewhere for trips and transfers. Hired a private long tail boat for 1,200 Baht for 3 hour snorkelling trip to Ko Phi Phi Ley, Maya Bay, Monkey beach, etc well worth it from booth just outside the resort on the path to Paradise Pearl. Ate at the Hilltop restaurant which is great and well worth the climb, and at Paradise Pearl which was a lot better than expected, with the Penang curry the best we had anywhere. Nice 25 minute walk to Ton Sai but you won't want to stay long there. 3.5 stars would be the best rating as it is quite expensive for what you get, but the Long Beach location nudges it to 4.

This place was basic, but truly amazing!

The room was clean and spacious with the necessities, air conditioning (new and worked really well), TV (including satellite and English stations), nice furnishings and a very large (but basic) bathroom. If you are willing to sacrifice an "amazing" room, this is the best place, just steps (one step only for us as we were beach front) from a fantastic beach on Phi Phi with a great vibe.

The resort lacks "extras" (not really a "resort") - no free wifi, no free transfer to the pier or pick-up service, and only a basic included breakfast (although, do we really need all those pastries!!). Plus, our pillows were rubbish, I almost complained. Also, we only had cold water in the shower, it wasn't freezing but when you swim in the ocean everyday it's a challenge to wash your hair in it!

The restaurant only serves breakfast and lunch (and lunch wasn't always open when we were there). Breakfast is a buffet, with eggs, rice, toast and fruit, nothing special but certainly enough to fill you up. The staff in the restaurant weren't that friendly, they do there job and nothing else (they aren't rude, just only polite). The lunch menu was short, but delicious! We would recommend the fried noodles, we ate it more than once : )

It doesn't have a pool but trust me, you do not need one when you are this close to the most gorgeous beach on Phi Phi.

If I went back to Long Beach, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in room 404. It was Beach Front and on the end (away from reception but closer to the next...

My husband and I are "flashpacking" in Thailand for 2 months and always knew that Phi Phi would be more expensive than other islands/beaches. We stayed at Phi Phi Hill Resort for one night in the cheapest room before deciding to shell out the cash for a nice room right on the beach. We went to every single resort on Long Beach and Paradise Resort had the best value rooms. We went for the Superior not beachfront room in the last row and it was perfect - super clean and spacious room, aircon, TV with nice furnishings and a very nice bathroom. One thing the resort lacks is the "extras" - no free wifi, no free transfer to the pier when you leave, and the included breakfast is a bit lacking. But if you can get past that, just know that you are just steps from the nicest beach on Phi Phi and you have a great place to sleep. But don't come to Phi Phi if you think you're going to find a nice room on the beach during high season for less than $50 USD.

Stayed at paradise for 8 nights in January 2012. Long beach is a really nice beach and the water is clear. The view from the beach is really nice, with the view at Phi Phi ley. Long beach is a quite popular beach as it seemed like a lot of people were arriving with taxi boats from other places to spend the day at long beach. We stayed in a superior bungalow. It seemed quite new and I have nothing bad to say about it, except I would have liked the terrace to be bigger. It is quite small and not really a place you can sit and enjoy an evening. The standard bungalows have nicer and bigger terraces. The restaurant only serve breakfast and lunch. At breakfast there is a buffet, with eggs, rice, toast and fruits. It's nothing special but it is okay. The staff in the restaurant.... Hmmm I don't know what to say... They are not that friendly, they do there job and nothing else, it took us a couple of days just to get a smile out of them. But they were not rude or anything like that. Let's just say I have met more friendly Thai than at paradise ;)
We will definitely go back to long beach, but I'm not sure if it is going to be at this resort, I think we will try one of the other resorts next time

We stayed at Paradise Resort for 6 nights in early February 2012. After catching a ferry from Phuket we took a longtail boat from Tonsai harbour to Long Beach (100 baht pp). We arrived with our luggage on the beach to be greeted by staff from Paradise Resort who took care of checking us in to our room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The resort has small bungalows in rows set back from the beach a little (literally less than a minute to the beach). Our room was a little dated but clean with a comfortable bed, in-room safe, fridge and good A/C. Breakfast was included with the typical fresh fruit, toast, juice, coffee and a few hot dishes.

The best thing was the proximity to the beach, good swimming and nice view across to Phi Phi Ley. There are a few restaurants on the beach that provide variety without having to go into town. The best restaurant according to everyone we talked to was Phi Phi Hill at the far south end of the beach - walk up the 85 stairs, its worth it.

There are 2 dive shops on the beach. I used Long Beach Divers, a 2 minute walk from Paradise resort. Same price as in town. Good operation.

Overall we enjoyed staying here - not luxurious, but clean comfortable and great location.

We stayed here for two nights. Staff were friendly and it was a decent size room with very comfy pillows and a mosquito net for protection - which is needed. Just a short walk from the beach as in 10 seconds. Breakfast was very nice and generally a good stay which we would recommend

The big big plus of this place is the location on a very beautiful bay away from all the buzz from the harbour. It takes 10 mins by boat but there is also a good walk (25-30mins) by the which offered great midnight dipping opportunities! We ended up walking most of the time because it was easy enough and quite pleasant.
The hotel itself is OK with small discreet bungalows arranged in rows. The rooms are basic but comfortable. It was very busy so we had to get a more expensive room than my friends, which was marginally nicer but not sure worth the extra money. The room was huge and clean but spartan. It had a little terrace, useful to dry swimming gear.
The service of the hotel was not impressive. Maybe it was very busy because of the high season and standards drop but we felt let down as staff seemed uninterested and unfriendly. We saw the presumably manager/owner once talking to his staff and we understood why they might be unmotivated! he was quite nasty to them!
We only had breakfast - included- and it didnt impress us so we prefered to have our food in the nearby pearl resort or in town where there is more variety.
The beach is beautiful and much calmer than the ones in town.
The spa service was very good! we tried both this one and the nearby paradise pearl and thought they both were excellent!
