“Good location, good stay.”
Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

We completed a three nights stay at banyan villa. The rooms were good but the service was awful! There is only one person who manages everything! The pool water had lime mixed in it so when we got out we were extremely sticky. The breakfast was good and the seatings are great. I wouldn't really recommend booking for banyan villa unless its the last option available. Cheers!

Great hotel and location.
Lovely pool ( only 6 sun beds)
Beautiful.
Stayed twice and my mum is staying soon.
Ideal for restaurants and bars.
Lovely staff.
It's the best here, we have stayed in a few hotels.
Rent your own long tail boat for only 1500 baht for 3 hours including snorkelling equipment £30 and go to phi phi lay (take 100 baht each fee to go ashore.
Words can not say how beautiful it is. Great snorkelling. Shame the other tourists make it crazy busy.
I would recommend June for Thailand not high season, it's half price in all hotels and not full of posh back packers who are trying to turn paradise into Ibiza. It's changed a lot already , what a shame but still fantastic.
If you want peace and quite try 3 nights on long beech it's got better beaches and less people.
Enjoy x

Room Tip: Lovely garden rooms are a bit prettier. £50 per night off peak and £100 high season. We love it he...

We just completed a two-night stay at Phi Phi Banyan Villa.

Highlights:
*Breakfast buffet is included, with a decent selection and an omelette / egg station
*Gym available - we didn't use it, but it looked great
*Nice pool and they offer nice big fluffy towels (although limited seating - I counted about 4 chairs)
*Great location - now, keep in mind that the island is so small that any location could be considered great, but this was centrally located and steps from the water
*Excellent water pressure
*Cable TV with ample channels
*Decently comfortable beds
*Clean
*Complimentary water and tea/coffee with kettle available in room

Drawbacks:
*Room size is small compared to the average Asian hotel (we booked a Banyan Wing room at ~$135/night)
*The AC is not very strong, so it would take some time for the room to cool down
*The "view" overlooked a shabby building
*Locks don't feel particularly safe (especially when combined with multiple signs about ensuring that you keep all doors locked)
*Internet was basically non-existent (would work slowly for about one minute and then stop for the next hour)

Overall: We booked fairly late, and this hotel was the best available that balanced price, availability, and amenities. It was decent, but if I were to return, I'd first check to see what else was available before staying here.

Other: They have a restaurant owned by the same company (Tonsai Seafood). Great view of the water and mediocre but affordably-priced food.

This hotel says it offers a "Free Cancellation"...but truth be told, they will charge you a percentage of your booking plus a penalty fee....which for me was about $50. Any hotel that offers free cancellation, but doesn't back it up is not worth the risk of other potential issues. STAY AWAY!!!!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. It was a decent hotel. Very clean and service was good. The only complaints i would have if there were any was for how small the room was and it had very dim lighting it was a bit more expensive than everywhere else we stayed for same quality. But that is also what you expect when staying on Phi Phi. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Clean, Firendly staff and right in the middle of all the action!

Room was actually good except there was sand in my sheets and i had just arrived so it wasn't from me

I told them the next morning about the sand and she was so offended and told me if I wanted to leave I should do it. She insisted the room had been clean and I just said " ok but there's sand so I want new sheets". She said I don't care if you leave I have other people here I don't need you and then said shed put my luggage out! It was the full moon maybe?? I don't know but it was so bad i asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager and refused to find me anyone further.

Just so bad and is the opposite of customer service - rude!

Hotel basic but provided everything my daughter and I needed. Good choice of breakfast with lovely beachside location. Fab gym facilities, sauna and free wi fi in welcome air conditioned centre. Plenty of eating options and bars not far but not too close to be noisy. Swimming pool got a bit dirtier second week and limited seating around poolside but that's the only critiscm.

Room Tip: We stayed top near far end which suited us.
