“A stain on the island of Phi Phi”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

I was optimistic upon arrival at the Hotel due to the convenient location in comparison to the harbour and distance from the main beach.

However i was soon shocked and appalled by the WORST staff i have ever encountered in any sector of any business during my entire life.

I will structure the main 'work on' points for the hotel in the following fashion

1. Do not allow almost dead dogs to live in the lobby constantly sprawled out on the floor.
2. Ensure for a five story building that an elevator is in place
3. Do not force guests to sign for a 3 hour WIFI ticket (one per day per person max) What the hell?
4. Do not constantly remind guests of the hotel rules, e.g As i went for a relaxing swim at 1830hrs i was rudely reminded twice by the ignorant staff that i must be out the pool by 2000hrs. I can read a sign and take the information on board the first time.
5. Do not hassle the guests for a breakfast coupon on the 5th morning of a 6 night stay, staff should know our faces and room number by now. Vouchers is a 3rd world method of tracking who has wifi, breakfast etc.
6. Do not ignore a guest's request for a room to be cleaned a couple of hours after you wish to do it.
7. Do not have a mental policy stating that all friends must be out of the hotel by 2200hrs otherwise you will enforce a 2000bht fine.
8. Finally do not repeatedly call my hotel room at 1058hrs to ensure i am checking out at 1100hrs, it is rude and obnoxious.

Overall, great location, punchable staff!

Whoever owns this hotel I implore you to sack you're mid level managers who are incompetent and horrible and employ personable people who treat guests like guests!

The hotel is grand of mid price range in PhiPhi. It offers pools, fitness center and if you are lucky as me get a room facing the sea side and tall enough, the view for PhiPhi is Amazing, A little dissapointed is the location is not really beach near and you have to a little of distance to get to the night market and gourmet seafood restaurant when you hang out at night. But lats face it, PhiPhi is small and everything is accessible, so it's not a big issue.
As a frequent Phiphi visitor, there are a lot grand hotel opening in the region but this one somehow among the first batch. It;s good to know some hospitality tradition of the PhiPhi. Ha:)

Room Tip: Choose a room high lv and face the sea. The view is stunning

OK so this place was a recommendation and we are no longer friends (kidding, but you get the point).

For Phi Phi this place is upper end expensive in the town but it is far from value for money. There is no lift and if you're on the 5th floor it can get pretty boring going up and down all those stairs - it's the 21st century I think.

The hotel policies are just ridiculous:
- If you want to use the wifi then you can sign (yes sign) for a 3 hour ticket no matter how long you're staying; plus the signal is hazy at best on the top floor. They ran out of Internet vouchers during our stay too so even though it worked we had no web access for a third of our stay - winner.
- If you want to bring a guest back during daylight hours then be prepared to explain yourself fully, after 10pm then make sure they have their passport and cough up the 2,000bh fine. Seriously, WTF - we on holiday not in a convent.
- At breakfast make sure you have your vouchers otherwise no feed. I have never been to such a rigidly silly place - I've been here for 5 nights, you know me and my room number but you still want the voucher. Wow!

As for the service, be prepared for no smiling, being told the rules and then patronisingly told them again when you break them (naughty holiday maker) and barking dogs that lie by stairs, reception and anywhere they want.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

The view is nice though.

This is the first and hopefully last of bad reviews I will write.
I stayed here a few weeks ago with two easy going friends. The location was convenient as it is close to the ferry. The rooms are a decent size however ours had a couple of old toenail clippings floating around and the shower was leaking from the skirting boards onto our luggage. From the looks of the other reviews- leaks seem to be a common problem here.

On requesting a staff member to come and look at it, the lady (Jieb) at reception told us to leave the hotel and seek accommodation elsewhere. She was exceptionally rude and argumentative- I have never dealt with such an incompetent nasty person before this. She persisted in this behaviour throughout our stay- it felt like she was deliberately trying to make us leave. We met several people on the island who had also had the same shocking service from the same woman. In general the service was poor and the staff were mostly rude- it was the first time I have experienced bad service in Thailand. There are far nicer places on the island for a similar price- the other side of the island is quieter and you can get a long tail boat very cheaply to take your bags. It is definitely worth moving a little further from the port for a better experience.

Firstly, if you would like to bring back guests you are not allowed after 10 PM - you will be fined if you do.

Secondly, when I arrived here both my room and my mate's room had a very serious leak by the window. When we called reception to fix it they didn't take us seriously, we had to go argue with them to come up to even LOOK at the problem. Eventually the (very rude) management sent the (very nice, but bad english speaking) cleaners who realised we had a serious problem

The best solution they could come up with was to put towels across half the floor of our room.5 towels had to be changed after half an hour. After arguing with management to change our rooms for several hours, they agreed to let us move but the experience was so unpleasant that we decided to just pay a cancellation fee of 1 night and move hotels.

I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU AGAINST STAYING AT THIS HOTEL. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Room Tip: Make sure you request one that doesn't let gallons of rain water through the window.

Phi Phi is a must for all travelers. We had booked phi phi hotel months ago after recommendations from a friend. She recommende because its the first hotel you meet off the island!

The plus's - it's very easy to get too and great not to have to drag your bags around after getting off a boat.

The views are out of this world. We had a sea view room. Spectacular. Well worth the extra money to upgrade.

It close to everything yet far enough away from the madness. The other side of the island is HOPPING and couldn't imagine staying there is your looking for relaxation.

The minus's - it's outdated. The hotel needs a good spruce up.

Bed sheets weren't great. Mine had a stain on it.

Toilets are VERY temperamental.

All staff we met were lovely except for one and unfortunately it only takes one bad experience to bring the rest down.

Generally the hotel for me served its purpose. It was ok for what we needed. Not worth the money considering we left 5 star in phuket for the same price. Saying that Phi Phi is something you have to go and see. It's unbelievable. Take the speed boat tour. You won't regret it.

Me and my family stayed here for five days july 11. It was the very best hotel I've ever been to. The staff was nice, breakfast ok, the room was clean, beds comfortable and the view was amazing. The pool was also great! I don't have anything to complain about.
