This absolutely magnificent place is sadly so overcrowded, it was really not what i expected. We even chose to go later in the afternoon when most tour groups have visited but it was still very busy. So many boats on the beach, there is only a small swimming area. You also have to pay 200 Baht per person to get off on the beach. Not so sure if I would go back there.

Maya Bay is indeed a gorgeous beach. Emerald waters with shallow bay; creamy white sands. HOWEVER, it is overly crowded with visitors now; a friendly tip when visiting this bay: stay at Tonsai Village, take the sunset tour or sleep on board. I was lucky to be on a tour where we get to enjoy the bay with little or almost no crowd at all. Sunset view from here is breathtaking! I only found out how crazy the crowd can be the next day during my diving trip when our dive boat stopped nearby for our lunch; i must say... the crowd were insane.

We saw so many people talk about Maya Bay in Tripadvisor. Once We arrived Phuket. We book the trip of PP Island from justtakeatrip Phuket. Maya Bay was very nice, and Just Take a trip is a good tour in Phuket, the staff service very polite.

We love Maya Bay and We love just justtakeatrip.

We were underwhelmed when we first landed in Maya Bay - it was crowded, water was dirty and altogether not what we expected. However, we booked overnight stay. As the sun set and the crowd left, the beauty of the place unfolded. Probably the most serene place you can spend a night in. Also, the water is full of planktons which illuminate when you swim through - only can be seen in the night though.

If you go there, go to stay the night / as early in the morning as you can to enjoy the full beauty.

Amazing for the facebook cover photo, and I've heard that the overnight partyboat trip is incredible, but was crammed with people when I was there as well as powerboats pulling up onto the beach while us longtails are forced to scramble across sharp coral to access by rickety ladder. Bring your aquasocks if traveling on longtail tour!
