“not the best choice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

the room is not clean and feels too old.
the shower is below the average.
the only thing which is good in the hotel is the pool, and the location.
I wouldn't recommend, since it's not worth the money.

Room Tip: don't go

We have stayed in this hotel numerous times on and off over the past 14 years. As well as stayed in numerous other locations within Phi Phi central.

This place has gone completely to the DUMPS.

We have rented the Andaman Suite, a 2 bedroom suite overlooking the bay. The nightclubs up the beach start up around 10pm and are relentless until 4am...we are living within a bass-box.

The rooms are completely rundown and ramshod, as is the rest of the hotel.

But it doesnt stop there...Phi Phi itself is completely rundown. The restaurants that were once good are garbage...

We have been longtime supoprters of Phi Phi...but its over. What it once was is long gone. We understand the Tsunami having altered things here a lot (we were here during the Tsunami and affected by it ourselves). But where once were the Phi Phi Princess and Phi Phi Charlie, are now crappy nightclubs, abismal restaurants and long gone is the majority of Thai locals running the island. Its a hash of Burmese and other nationalities and the place is wrecked.

Someone in the Government needs to take control...bulldoze the entirity and make it an exclusive island resort, not a waste-case party spot. Its the nices Island in the world and its Soddom.

We initially booked to stay for 5 nights we left after 1. The rudest staff I have ever come across in a hotel. The rooms are small, smell of damp and dated, these rooms have not been updated since the 80's. The shower was broken, dripped salty Luke warm water. Quality of breakfast is poor also. The only redeeming feature about this hotel is the pool and the beach front, but the rest is very poor. If you do stay make sure you ask to see the room before you hand over any cash.

The hotel has a location with beautiful view. It's not a beach that you really can lay down on the sand (you can try..), but you can enter the sea.

Plus:
-Location
-There are hotel bellboys waiting for the guests at the pier to carry the luggage and guide us to the hotel, very handy.

-View from the swimming pool and from some rooms to the sea & mountains, beautiful

-Breakfast has good assortment

Mins:
-The check in & check-out can be improved. You don't feel welcome at all.

-Hotel rooms smell humidity and bathrooms are not well maintained

-The hotel seems to require maintainance everywhere

-Hotel room price is too high

-Swimming pool is beautiful to look, but many tiles are dark, dirty..

-Swimming pool staff don't feel like working

-Fitness...has been forgotten somewhere...machines are too old

-Hotel is very big but not completely used

-No male massage therapists available

-Massage area is near the swimming pool, guests receive massage in a mattress on the floor, no privacy, so guests have their half (or the whole) butt exposed to everybody passing by during their massages (I know..it happens all over Thailand).

**The best of this hotel are the bellboys and some breakfast staff, friendly & polite.

I read the reviews of the other people and didn't believe it. The odd smell in the room, the poor shower the tales about the expensive food. It all sound like complaints of spoiled brats.
Several travel agencies recommend me this hotel so I went for it. It was horrible.
The rooms had odd smell that we think that came from the air conditioning. The shower was tiny, and I'm a relatively small person (165 cm). In addition to being small the water in the shower didn't hold the same temperature over time. One minute the water is cold the other they are hot.

Everybody say that when you are in Phi Phi you don't stay in the room, its true, but you still sleep in the room. However that is not always possible, due to the noise from the clubs on the beach. After a day of diving and massage, you can't go to sleep before 2am.

We paid 150$ for night for this hotel and I would not even pay 10$ to stay there.

Good price. Good service. Excellent location. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Nice swimming pool. Unlike the other recent reviewers, we had a nice room. Had some noise from the beach parties, but no lacking maintenance and not old-fashioned.
