“Luckily at the end of the beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2014

The other end of the beach all the way to the dock becomes a huge party after dark. However, this hotel is far enough away that one can sleep without hearing the noise. The fresh fish is wonderful, but like most touristy places on the Thai islands, they lack the standards the a Thai national would demand. The pool is nice too. Lots of climbing to get to the rooms and the grounds are a pathway to other resorts.. Other than that, it's lovely.

Phi Phi is a small island that has become completely overrun by tourists (mostly backpackers). Nothing against backpackers, I've been one at certain points in my life. Phi Phi has split personalities. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world, but at night it becomes one giant party.

We spent two nights at Phi Phi Bayview Resort. We were happy with our stay, and most of my complaints about our time on Phi Phi are not related to the hotel. Our room would be considered sub-par in most locations, but for a small island, the room was comfortable, clean, and had free wifi. The breakfast that came with the room was pretty good. The walk into the main part of town only takes about five minutes, so don't pay attention to the people who complain about the location.

Pros: Good breakfast, clean room, seems to be one of the few resorts that has lounge chairs on the beach.
Cons: The boats in the bay are very loud and annoying, not the friendliest staff (high standards for this in Thailand).

Enjoyed my stay here, rooms are spacious and well equipped with hair dryer and coffee and tea facilities. Never ate at the restaurant only for breakfast. It was a good choice but don't go before 8. Very busy with people going on trips.
Hotel only about a 10 minute walk to the main shopping and entertainment area.
Only thing that I would advise against people coming here is that it is on a hill so it could be tricky for those who can't walk well or far.

Stayed here with some friends for a couple of nights and up until checking out we had a great time - mind blowing views, comfy and clean rooms, great sun lounging on the beach, nice pool and all for a pretty reasonable price.

This was somewhat marred by our experience when we checked out. We lost a room key when it fell off the key fob - this was due to some dodgy welding on the ring. When attempting to explain the situation to an older, managerial lady at the front desk we were lambasted for losing it and she demanded compensation. When attempting to explain that it was their faulty key ring to blame the lady starting screaming at us that it was "impossible".

This circular argument continued and built up to somewhat of a finale when the lady tried to demonstrate the impossibility of the keys falling off the ring by flinging it across the reception area and smashing it off the floor. To our great satisfaction and applause, the key she threw pinged off. Gratified, we declined to pay the fee and walked off to the boat (she told the staff not to take our bags).

In conclusion, this was a nice hotel and I wouldn't discourage people from going but if you're not keen on confrontation, give the manager a wide berth.

And to you manager lady, if you ever read this, I say: nothing is impossible.

Room Tip: Get a sea view, and watch out for the steep climbs up the hills.

My boyfriend and i went here in January 2014. This hotel was one of our favorite places to stay in thailand. When you get to koh phi phi you will arrive by ferry. the hotel can be seen from the bay in which you arrive. We were met by a couple of members of staff from the hotel who loaded our bags onto a boat and took us to the hotel. My boyfriend and i loved this! as we felt very spoilt!

We had read some quite bad things and mixed reviews about his hotel- and especially the 'scary' owner. However, i must say we LOVED IT! Koh phi phi is an expensive island and you can't really stay anywhere for less than £20 per person. I think we paid about £60 pernight for two with breakfast and you cannot fault it at this price! The breakfast was on for 3 hours each morning and was extremely vast (and delicious).

the hotel itself is at the end of the bay towards 'long beach'. The location for us was perfect as it looked out over the bay and we could watch the sun set in the evening. The main centre (which is tiny) is only about a 15-20 minute walk- which we liked as we are both active). at the weekends the island is much busier with large groups of travellers and in turn is a lot quieter in the week. We loved everything about the island. Go to the hippy bar! for amazing food and entertainment- FIRE SHOWS.

Koh phi phi is such an amazing place. I would advise going on some of the boat tours and island hopping days (maya beach, shark poiint, mosquito island etc...) However, if you do this try and form a small group with some other tourists as you can do it for cheap if you hire a boat. We made friends with a couple and did 2 days of island hopping (7 hours per day and it cost us 2000 TBHT per day for all of us! BARGAIN!!!).

We loved this hotel and location so much that we went back for our last night on Koh phi phi.

We definitely left a piece of our hearts there.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 302 which we thought was the best room ever!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hillside setting means the views are fantastic, but if I went again I would definitely request a sea view as I think some of the huts at the back don't have one. We found it a great base - close enough to town to wander in, but also close to quieter walks and other beaches around the island. The hut itself is fairly basic, but such a lovely view to wake up to, with a great balcony to watch the sun go down it felt special. We would love to go back.

Firstly, lots of previous reviewers said the staff weren't friendly. We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful but then again, we're pretty easy going and don't sweat over the little things.
Resort is located at the end of the pier beach. It's a leisurely 10 minute stroll to the main area or they have long boats for free.
Be prepared for stairs as the rooms are on a hillside but this means beautiful views. Rooms were nice, clean with private balcony (bring mosquito repellant). Wifi was full bars in the room.
Buffet breakfast was nice with lots to choose from (and the egg cook was efficient and smiley). Restaurant served decent food with prices on par with the rest of the island.
Overall, a nice stay and would come back.
