Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort
Ranked #2 of 39 Hotels in Ko Phi Phi Don
Certificate of Excellence

Our breath was taken away even just as we neared the beach from when we realised we were at our destination. The trip from the bay by boat and not knowing which hotel is yours makes it so exciting. When we saw it from afar, my husband though “I hope this one is the one!”. And it was!

This was part two of our honeymoon and we could not have asked our agent to have planned it better. After having enjoyed the night life and Thai New Year in Phuket, a couple of days of doing pretty much nothing on beautiful Phi Phi was just what we needed.

Our welcome drinks were simply delicious and having also been welcomed with a scented towel, we knew this place was going to be special with even the littlest details being seen to.

Our room was gorgeous and considering the size of the resort, trips by golf cart made it even a cinch to get anywhere.

The pool is the biggest we had ever seen and was simply magnificent. We practiced scuba diving in the pool with their guides which was really special.

The highlight of our stay must have been when we went snorkeling – a first for both of us. Pictures just don’t do justice to the amazing marine life.

Another highlight was a tick off the bucket list: laying in a hammock between two palm trees 

We were extremely sad to leave, but hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Room maid from our room stolen sweater and 2 pcs. dress, staff didn't found it.
Hotel room won't very clean, for 5 stars hotel should be much better.

Prices in hotel huge, trips cost 3 x more than you can book outside hotel, restaurant food good but cost very expensive. It is much better to eat outside hotel in Phi Phi village. Transfer from port to hotel one side cost 200 THB per person.

No any entertainments in hotel.

Thank you for your staying with us and taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry that you feel unhappy with the price of our facilities and the incident of your lost belongings. Our resort has maintained an excellent reputation for more than 20 years, with many of our employees working here for a long time with loyalty and honesty. A theft perpetrated by one our employees is unlikely as they live here on the island. As for guest facilities, we select the best quality food and drink, operate with high standards of hygiene, and offer quality excursions that are covered by insurance, in order to meet guest expectations. Thank you again for your valued feedback.

Great place to relax, away from the crowds.
Good rooms / Villas but a huge property so expect some walking within the resort.
Mosquitoes a problem.
Good spa
clear clean waters

Note - keep at least 4 hours travel time for transit to the Island.
Limited shuttles to the mainland. (around 8:00 am & 13:00 pm only) We had to cut short 1 day as our flight was in the morning.
Take afternoon / evening flights out of Phuket / Krabi
The hotel must inform guests of this at the time of reservations

Great place but service could be better (limited staff with English comprehension)

This hotel was amazing! It was located on its own private beach which was accessible by long tail boat only. When you arrive at the Phi Phi pier there is someone waiting there with a sign for Outrigger and they have long tail boats ready to transport you to the hotel. The rooms were individual cabins(huts) along and on the beach and there is an amazing outdoor pool with a swim up bar. It was just like a resort. There are a lot of day trips you can do from the island as well.

If you are looking for some true relaxation and want an amazing beach I would recommend this hotel for sure. The staff were great, helpful and beyond nice. They were also very accommodating. They allowed us to share one breakfast buffet as my appetite was very small when we were travelling, which was really nice of them. I would come back for sure to unwind.

Amazing location and great swimming pool but the staff were rude and disinterested - particularly at the pool bar. We stayed 4 nights in a beach front villa - spacious and great views but would have still checked out if there wasn't the village close by where you can enjoy more authentic food and friendly locals.

The bad

Service - It is non existent, expect to be kept waiting at reception, breakfast, the bar, recreation, making phone calls etc, and when you do get served it is done with a real sense disdain. This appears to be a culture at this resort, was present with nearly all staff and had a big (negative) impact on our time at outrigger.

Entertainment - Be warned there is very little to do at the resort, The pool was fun but thats about it. The beach is not pleasant as it is made up of rocks and old coral, this makes it difficult to walk along or swim in, as for bars and restaurants see my comments on service. Other than these things there's nothing else to do at the resort.

The good
Accommodation was alright and everything worked

You can organize day trips and see some of the amazing things Phi Phi has to offer, just keep in mind this will cost extra $

HINT: There is a local village 200m (600feet) from the coconut bar, here there are bars restaurants (which are clean and safe to eat at) and tour operators who organize day trips. All the services at this village are half the price of the resort and if you do decide to go to outrigger find this village as soon as you can!!!!

Overall
I wouldn't recommend staying at all! There are much better, funner Cheaper ways to see Phi Phi like taking day trips from Phuket or staying somewhere cheaper in the main village on the island. If you are set at staying in a resort find another one because the outrigger was really poor!

The hotel has an awesome view from the beach and the rooms are big and comfortable. However, I was expecting much more from the service, given the price I've paid and the reviews I've readed. My room wasn't made up on the last day, what I think it's unforgivable for a hotel like this. Also, they charge you for EVERYTHING and the tours they arrange are often the double or even the triple the offers you can find in the village behind the property.

Service in the restaurants are poor too. You wait a lot to be seated, a lot to receive the menu and a lot for the food. In the last days, I was going myself after the menu because it was just ridiculous to seat there and wait.

They charge you 200THB for the transfer to and from Phi Phi town. And, as the hotel is kind of isolated from the rest of the island, this is the only way to get to the city, unless you want to go for a 40 minutes hike (but only during the day, no electricity at night).

Another downer: wi-fi is only available in the reception area or in the rooms near it. If you stay in a room in the back (as I was), say goodbye to internet.

I think I would recommend this hotel, but the service really needs some improvement.

Room Tip: Ask for a room next to reception area, so you can have the wi-fi signal. And take your repellent wit...
