This is a wonderful wonderful resort that is fabulous if you are on a romantic break. Fantastic villas made of wood are beautifully laid out and set far enough apart from each other so that you can drop all your inhibitions in them. The villas are laid out about 30-40 mts away from the water so you are only ever a short walk away from the sea.

One of us has a phobia of creepy crawlies so the hotel staff would cheerfully accompany us when we walked at night to or from our villa or the main building. If you are looking for a place where you can go for long walks along the trails within the hotel property or on the beach, or if you want to go snorkelling, kayaking in the sea, etc, this place is great.

Great breakfast with exotic fruits in addition to the usual buffet suspects were the perfect start to the day. There were great restaurants in the property however if you want to find other dining options, you may not have much luck.

Since you are going to be on an island, be aware that there is a 45 min boat ride from Phuket that one needs to take to get to the island. The day we went out the water was choppy and most people on the ferry were looking really green! So make sure you carry motion sickness medicine especially if there are children in your party. Also carry fluids with you on the ferry because it may be very hot and mixed with motion sickness, it could get you down for a few hours.

On the whole this is a holiday I would do again in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms and everything about this hotel is beautiful, including the pool! The only thing is that it was so quiet, so ideal if you want a peaceful break but if you want something/anything going on in the evening the actual hotel isn't that kind of place. BUT........Behind the hotel is a village, we discovered this on our 2nd day and once discovered we didn't eat or drink in the hotel at night. The food in the village was amazing, the bars fun and actually had people in them! Try the Mint Restaurant, very good.

The location of the hotel is secluded on its own private beach, this means if you want to sample some of phi phi nightlife it makes the village behind your only option as longboats to the port would be 1500-2000 thb one way after dark....

My rating is lower on this hotel as although the hotel was lovely it was too dull in the evenings, there is so much potential. As a couple in early 30's we don't want to be somewhere mental but this place had nothing. However if you want a quiet break this would be ideal for you.

Room Tip: All the room types were beautiful and a good size, sounds obvious but only the beach front suites re...

We were collected from the marina in Phuket by the hotel boat and had a wonderful hour and half boat trip to Phi Phi, arriving right in front of the hotel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service, staff, accomodation - everything actually - were just what we were hoping they would be, fantastic!

Room Tip: If you like to sit on your balcony and have a view, I suggest booking accommodation with a beach/sea...

I stayed here for 1 night as I was travelling from Phuket to Krabi. The hotel is in a secluded spot on the island, so this is perfect if you want to get away from it all. My experience was that the staff were superb and extremely welcoming and friendly. Really, they couldn't do enough for you. The beach is very beautiful and you can get those great holiday pictures that make it look like you we're the only people on the beach! For dinner, we had the Thai buffet which delicious and compared to any other report I have stayed out outside if Thailand it was very cheap.

Outrigger is a picturesque resort with bungalow rooms, a good buffet breakfast and your typical tropical island views. But it is OVER PRICED! If you walk 5 minutes to a small village behind outrigger, you will find the best experience that side of phi phi has to offer! My girlfriend and I couldn't believe our luck with 100baht cocktails and 150baht Thai dishes compared to outriggers 300baht cocktails and 400baht meals. The beach bar and owner Pew is where we spent NYE Songkran 2013 with the locals and it was amazing! Down the road and to the right is a restaurant named Red Tuna. We ate there day and night and absolutely loved the food and atmosphere the owners have created. The outrigger staff do not promote this village, they even deny it being there. Walk through the 'staff only' gates if you dare.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (we stayed at 4 more different hotels throughout Thailand during our trip)
The good:
The located is located in a bay which makes it very private and far from the busiest part of Phi Phi.
We were upgraded to a beach front bungalow and that made our stay so much better.
The beach is beautiful but beware of the tide. We could not go in the water before noon.

The bad:
The food is terrible and expensive. My husband actually got food poisoning. We didn't get the chance to try the restaurants in the back of the hotel but we regretted it!
The excursions are very expensive from the resort.
The service is as bad as everyone else is reporting. And it is even more disappointing as the service is so good any other place in Thailand.
There is no wireless in the rooms.
The noise from the excursion boats on the left side of the beach can definitely get into your nerves after a while.

Disappointing overall as we were so looking forward to our stay in Phi Phi. Some people recommended the Holiday Inn which is cheaper and better apparently. We will not come back.

We stayed at Outrigger for 4 nights in March and were seriously impressed. We arrived by Ferry and there was a speed boat there waiting for us at the Jetty in Tonsai Bay. This is about a 30 mins drive round the other side of the island but is nice as you get to see the island, the hotel charge about 200baht (about £4) per person which is pretty reasonable. On arriving, (If high tide) you are speechless, the view of the hotel and bay is unbelievable. You arrive to a lovely welcome drink and a very warm greeting. You are also given a voucher for a free snack which is also lovely and a nice touch.
The grounds are beautifully kept and the lobby area and shop are lovely.
The rooms are a little basic but very nice. Bungalows on stilts! Only slight problem is the lighting, there is so little light in the room you can’t really see what you’re doing, this is also a problem in the grounds as they give you a torch to walk around with in the evening as there is so little lighting in the garden areas around the rooms.
The food here is great, breakfast has a huge choice and lunch and dinner are also great. Pretty expensive and they add the Thailand 10% service charge and 7% vat to everything. They do a buffet most nights which is very expensive but is very good with a huge selection. The BBQ night is amazing, steaks, kebabs, seafood incl lobsters etc….definitely have a try!
The pool is huge with a swim up pool bar and has loads of sunbeds.
The beach is unreal however at low tide goes out a long way. I don’t really see this as an issue however some seem to, I just go by the pool.
The hotel offers some great activities including the chance to hire your own long tail boat, we hired one twice to go round the islands and additional islands nearby, this was amazing, you can go snorkelling, go to beaches where you’re the only ones there. The best snorkelling was at Nui bay, if like to snorkel definitely go here!!! The boat for 6 hours was about £20, amazing value! Hence why we did it twice!
This hotel is great would highly recommend and hopefully will definitely go back!!!
