We had dinner three times in this very small and humble restaurant. The food was excellent and cheap. Try the whole fried fish with sweet and sour sauce and with garlic and pepper, as well as the seafood soup, which is spicy, but you could ask how spicy you want your food to be. Every dish is delicious.

I heard about this place on tripadvisor and liked the idea of eating proper thai food in unique surroundings and I wasn't disappointed.

LOCATION: If you are facing the sea - walk to the right and follow the Laem Tong beach/holiday inn right the to the end. There is a path that leads away the from the resort with a security box on the right. Chilli and pepper is across from it and up the rickety steps.

FOOD: The menu is huge and the food is prepared fresh. You can see them cook. We had mussaman curry, red curry, beef & chicken fried rice, pad thai, chicken noodles, carbonara & bolognaise pasta, spring rolls(best i've ever had), fried chicken with chilli sauce. Most days we had lunch and dinner there.

The husband and wife who run the restaurant are great and their English was great too. The restaurant is right at the front of their house and it has a great view. The people are so friendly and they will cook your food how you like it. Sometimes we were the only people there! They also deliver or you can get your food in a takeaway tub (we did this at lunch one day and ate it on our balcony). It is about a 5 minute walk from reception at the Holiday Inn to Chilli and Pepper. We were in one of the last beachfront bungalows and it was only 2 minutes away through the coral new wing. Quite often the man who owns chilli and pepper would pass and wave to us or stop to have a chat!

Chilli and Pepper's food was the nicest that we had at Laem Tong and it was half the price of the other restaurants e.g. a can of coke is 30 bahts in chilli and pepper, in sawasdee its about 70 and holiday inn bar is about 80 bahts.................

You need to give it a go.

Found this place via peoples reviews on Trip Advisor. This is my second time to this area of Phi Phi and only just found this place at the end of the Holiday Inn property. Climbed up some steep stairs to come to the little restaurant, which appears to be the house of the lady who cooks. Her little boy was wandering around, and as many other people have noted - he had no pants on. But he was quite cute and stayed out of the way. The view was amazing of Bamboo and Mosquito Island. The sea and the sun were amazing. The lady was a great hostess and you got to see her actually cutting up all the ingredients and making the dish. It took longer than it would in an ordinary restaurant but this was all part of the experience. We loved out dishes and the setting of their house. It was a great experience for lunch and I recommend others make the journey to see it for themselves!!
