You cannot really call it restaurant.
But the food is delicious and cheap.
Order the fish, a great experience.
The family is nice and very friendly. Special hospitality there.
Don' hesitate, climbing ab the "Stairs".

Let me start by saying that I usually hate resort food/prices and always choose to eat locally whenever possible. I have also eaten at all levels/types of restaurants in Thailand over the years.

Noting the limited (10) but all good reviews on TA, we ate at Chili and Pepper last night. The location is charming as others have said, perched on the hillside overlooking the ocean just past the Holiday Inn guard shack on the south side of the resort. It is run by a husband and wife team who were very friendly.

Everything started well as we were greeted and seated. However, after that things got worse by the minute. First, they had a young son about 3 years old, who was running rampant around the restaurant and kitchen area and disturbing us and two other tables near us by getting up on the chairs at the tables and hitting everything in site with his little plastic shovel. He even got atop the table at the group next to us and was shooed away by them. His mother, the owner, seemed oblivious to most of this and never stopped him. Next, I observed him with his hands down his pants in both the front and back as he dashed over to the front steps of the restaurant. You can probably guess what happened next, you guessed it- he urinated in his pants with his hands in them!!! Then he took them off and threw them on the table next to the kitchen area and again resumed running around - without pants - bugging the guests. Eventually he went into the kitchen area where his mother and father were preparing the food and climbed up on the red cooler box containing the food; the parents never even seemed to notice his pants were off. The icing on the cake was when he began to put his hands all over the half watermelon they were serving for dessert. Every one of the guests were now watching him like a hawk, and no one would allow him near their table. Need I go on...there is actually more but I think you get the point.

Luckily, our food was mostly already prepared, spring rolls were very good; we also had Penang Chicken Curry which was excellent... and the garlic and pepper prawns were greasy and only average. The food took about 45 min to come out though. We were almost unable to eat it after what we witnessed. We decided that since our shrimp was deep fried and the curry was boiled that it would be safe, we hoped.

If we witnessed this in clear site, and the mother makes no effort to control this, I have to wonder what happens behind the scenes. Can't recommend this restaurant to anyone, sorry to say.

Great food and view winding up those stairs is a bit of fun lovely owners and you can see the food being prepared clean place and yes they do have bug spray on the tables but I did not have any need to use on my visit.
Located up from Holiday Inn once you see the security man's little box just look straight opposite and your there.
Thanks for a lovely meal.

It's about 20 meters past the end of the holiday inn beach up the track . It's a must do as the scenery from the balcony is awesome , the menu rivals any on the island and the food is beautiful, yes it's rustic and looks in inviting but trust me the owners are lovely and the food is great.

What a gem, this is such a fantastic restaurant, stunning views, fabulous food, friendly owners and an experience like no other.

This place is like something out of your imagination, it is perched on the side of a hill, made out of bits and pieces, off cuts, bamboo, sticks and an uneven slab - but these things only add to the charm.

We ate here as often as we could, the food is fresh and possibly the best in our travels to Thailand, it really is that good.

Don't be put off by appearance this is one place you want to dine at!
