This and many seafood shops on the island have been seen to serve shark, illegally caught within the protected marine areas. If you have any heart for the ocean, steer clear. Not only that, but the Thai fishing industry is absolutely evil and archaic. I don't eat fish in the country for this very reason. Burmese and Cambodian refugees are tricked and trafficked into the industry, forced to work 16-20 hours a day. Many tales of fishermen being murdered at sea by their bosses abound. Be kind, eat something else. You won't die without seafood.
