“Loved it!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2014

We had spent 3 nights in the main town before moving to Viking for a well needed break from the noise and smell!
Last time I came to Phi Phi I stayed on Long Beach which is double the price of staying here yet you can walk to long beach (be prepared to climb down a fairly steep banking - but well lit and has ropes to hang on to) in 5 minutes.
The rooms are lovely and have so much character. The manager and all the staff seemed great. They even upgraded us to a beach view bunglalow as the one we had booked had been damaged in a storm. There was no extra charge for this and he included breakfast. Very happy with this.
We didnt get a chance to eat an evening meal here but they do free tasters so you can try different dishes to see what you like before ordering anything. I thought this was a really nice idea.
Would definitely recommend

Room Tip: We had one of the bungalows that had a beach view. Be aware that these are not en suite however you...

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights over new year and loved it.

The accommodation was charmingly rustic, we stayed in a standard room which was quite small but absolutely adequate and good value for money. Even though we only had a fan too it didn't get too hot. Just be aware of the cockrals that wake you up every morning.

The private beach was beautiful and the resort is only a 5 minute boat journey to the town, which was really no hassle and we were pleased to have stayed here.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, our shower broke and they fixed it straight away. They were waiting for us when we arrived off the boat and to carried our bags from the beach to our room. We loved our stay, we would definitely recommend

We made a reservation at Viking Nature Resort a month in advance of our trip and unfortunately had to cancel due to a few days later due to a change in our travel plans. The resort has not refunded our deposit and has not responded to any of our enquiries to refund our money or even bother to explain why we can't be refunded. This is pretty unprofessional in my opinion and I would not recommend dealing with this company just in case your travel plans don't go exactly as you intended.

We stayed in a standard hut and was just up the steps from the restaurant and the amazing little private beach. The hut inside was basic but comfortable and basic bathroom. Restaurant had quite a strong wifi connection and you could also get it on the beach. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Town was about a 10/15 min walk away they tell you it's lit up but it really isn't so take some sort of light! The only con is which is petty that in the bed you didn't have a sheet or a duvet to put over you and even with the mosquito net I got very badly biten! Also there is no air con. But overall would definitely stay again!

stayed here in 2008 jan, it was getting some tree huts built and mr. jon the owner let us use one of the completed tree houses for an evening. secluded beach almost all to yourself, cut off some what from the rest of the island by high hills on either side, the food was good, the staff were friendly and laid back, the view every evening of the island ko phi phi lay where they filmed the movie the beach is breath taking, pink and orange sky every night. i am going back soon, it really is a slice of paradise on earth.

Room Tip: the rooms start at basic rattan huts on the slope to stunning delux tree houses near the beach,

We loved this place! Our bungalow was beautiful with a view over the water and was built around a tree so had branches running through inside which we thought was cool. The private beach by the resort is so much nicer than the beaches closer to town and there's a bigger beach next door which you can walk too. The walk into town was easy and only took ten minutes - it can get pretty hot but at low tide you can walk most of it on the beach. The restaurant is delish and they do free tastings of Thai food each night which is a nice touch! The staff were OK, not overly friendly or helpful but nice enough. Note that this is a nature resort so if you aren't keen on nature or no air-con then this might not be the place for you.. Overall was probably our favourite places to stay in Thailand!

What you see is what you get.. It's a nature resort, no hot water and just a fan, animals and creepy crawlies are the norm, cock a doodle do in the morning.. I had B2 bungalow right on the beach with hammock and share bathroom at side of reception, some items a bit over priced, difficult walk to town but if you don't like jungle get a taxi boat or just don't stay here... If your a seasoned Traveller/backpacker then I does what it says on the tin..
Staff are great but speak little English... I couldn't find fault and would stay here again. :)
