This was without a doubt my favorite place we stayed at in Thailand. So relaxed and the I loved the decor. We had a villa at the top of the hill so was a bit of a walk but so worth it. We enjoyed the hammock, the shower with a view, the free food tasting every night was amazing as I was able to try food that I probably wouldn't have been brave enough to order a whole plate of :) We organised a snorkeling trip through the hotel and they picked us up on the beach right in front of the hotel. Would definitely go back.

I liked that we were secluded from town and didn't have to deal with the crazy tourism and nightlife but were able to go into town for cheaper dinner (after the free tasting dishes served at 7 pm), water and business.
We stayed in the cheaper bungalow for 1200 baht per night and booked ahead of time. I was glad I did as they picked us up for free at the pier and delivered us to town at the end of our stay to catch the ferry. The room was nice but very small as was our porch. Other bungalows have bigger porches but we didn't luck out to get one of those. We read about the noise spilling over from town being a problem, but were not bothered, either because we were relatively farther east in the line of bungalows of because it was the off season and town wasn't as loud. The bathroom/showers were big and nice and not uncovered as many reviews had said. They provided nice soaps, shampoos and shower gel. The bed had a mosquito net and a great fan. I also really appreciated that there was a pot of water at the start of the porch to wash your feet off with so you didn't get everything sandy. The bed was the most comfortable of all our (much cheaper) stays in Thailand.
The private beach is nice. Massages were great, right on the beach and better priced than in town. We rented snorkel gear and hiked over to Mantee (spelling?) beach for clearer water and a bit more fish. Not great snorkeling though until you get up towards Rantee Beach.
My only complaint is that the internet doesn't work very well in the main area and not at all in the bungalows. In fact it worked so poorly we barely used it.

Room Tip: Ask for one farther away from town.

We saw the Viking Nature Resort accommodations on our way to Long Beach and loved them so much that we decided to make a rare financial splurge as budget travellers ($40USD/night) on a stilted hut with a balcony so we could enjoy some peace and quiet near the sea. We spent 3 nights and it was one of the best decisions we made on our trip, as we loved this accommodation! We had a large porch with a hammock, where we spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying the scenery. We also loved being able to listen to the waves at night as we slept. We opted for the cheaper hut with an outdoor shower and ended up preferring this shower to all others on our trip so far; it was large and the water pressure was great!
The included breakfast was extensive, with 4 dishes/person, and it was customizable from many options. The location was great, as it was along the sea, but there was some path walking involved (about a 10-minute walk to Long Beach and a 15-minute walk to town), which we didn't mind but could present an obstacle for some, though boat transport to and from the resort is provided upon arrival and departure. Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend this accommodation.

The place itself is beautiful and they have done a fantastic job blending into their surroundings. When you come into Phi Phi Don, you can hardly see the hotel in the jungle because it blends so perfectly, with beautiful wood and bamboo. The terraces are also amazing. We stayed in M2A which shared a giant balcony with two other rooms and it was definitely worth it. There was a big tree right in the middle of our bathroom! The walk to town is about 15 minutes to get to the good part of town over some pretty rough roots and small pathways. We did it several times a day and it was fine, but be aware if you are injured or don't like walking. Apparently there is a long tail that takes you every hour but we asked a few times and they said no, so I'm not 100% sure what the deal is with that.

Sadly, we had a bad experience with the service. When we first arrived, the receptionist was incredibly rude and barely acknowledged us. My boyfriend got some horrible food poisoning on our last night and I went to ask for an extra towel to wrap around him since he was very hot and I was going to cool him down and she refused due to their "two towel only" policy which is ridiculous since he was very sick. She also wouldn't give me tea even though they have tea in their restaurant. It's really a shame that she could not be more accommodating given the circumstances. There were little things about the service that really could be improved to better the hotel but if you can get past that then you're fine. The manager of the restaurant was very nice so that helped a lot.

Overall, we had a good experience since we didn't spend much time at the hotel. It's a very cool place with a private beach and fascinating rooms that completely differ from eachother and keep you away from the crazy neon and fakeness of phi phi.

Room Tip: I'd recommend splurging on one of the makmai rooms or at least the ones that include the bathroo...

What an awesome place... The perfect Thai retreat. We loved our villa that we stayed in,we had a lovely view of the sea, big terrace and hammock on the deck. The actual room was a great size and very clean. It really felt as if we were staying in the jungle, which we loved. We walked into the town everyday about a 1.5km walk which we really enjoyed but I can understand why some people might not want to do that every day and rather take the long boat. But from what I can see most of the really nice places required you to take the long tail back and forth or at least a decent walk. The service wasn't great to be fair, which is the one negative we had about this place. Other than that the free tasting dinner each night and the cute private beach were all highlights. If we ever went back to Pi Pi we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Pay the little bit extra and get one of the villas.

I stayed 5 nights here and loved it.

The bungalows are set right in the rainforest and overlook the ocean, and, they haven't cut down all the trees to "improve" the view. The resort boasts two private beaches and has lovely carvings all over the place. Also, there's an open air hut on the beach where you can get a Thai massage.

As other reviews have indicated, it's a little hike out of Ton Sai, but I enjoyed the walking and it places you far enough away so that the party scene won't keep you awake. That being said, if you have suitcases etc. by far the best way to get there is to get a longtail boat to take you. It can drop you right at reception.

The path near the resort is basically a forest walking track with exposed roots, rocks etc. and gets pretty steep in places. The longtails don't run late at night either, so if you're going out drinking be careful on your stagger back.

Having seen many of the alternatives for accommodation, and what they cost, I'm very happy with my choice. Lastly, I recommend the deluxe rooms, and if you're travelling with a decent size group to book out one of the big lodges to yourselves... they look awesome.

Room Tip: I stayed in D1 (superior room) most of the time. It was small, but very private. The walking track d...

Absolutely Beautiful Place. There were 4 of us in M9, for 2 nights. Good pick up service from pier. Quick Check-In, Great Breakfast, Private Beach, Staff booked Private tour for us, and amazing views. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and would stay there again next time. Nice walk into "town" from Resort. M9 was a beautiful BIG private treehouse, with an AMAZING veranda. Splurge it you can, worth it for the view and privacy.

Room Tip: M9 was great. Great view, little noise from town.
