Very nice island...more peaceful and quiet than Maya Bay (which is so crowd). The island has big waves when we had our tour, but still a very nice island to visit to. The water is so clear and it is worth visiting.

This island is about 40 minuets from the Centara Beach Resort. It is a beautiful ride on a high speed boat, perfect for taking photos. The island is a bit touristy when you first arrive to the island, however just a short walk to the left or right, you are submerged in a picture perfect backdrop! Bamboo island has white sand beaches and sparkling, clear water. The snorkeling is not very good, so don't get your hopes up. If you want to snorkel you might want to chose another island.

If you take a tour to one of these islands I would recommend that you take a bag with snacks and drinks from a store. It will ensure that the food is safe and fresh. Besides there is not much to chose from on the island, but there is one small hut that sales beer, sodas and a few snacks, both hot and pre packaged. I would still go with taking our own. You can get a bunch of ice from the hotel and put it in a plastic bag with beer and other drinks. Just a tip. :-)

If you go you will have a great time, but of you go, I would suggest that you include another island because you do spend a bit to much time when you only go to Bamboo Island.

Enjoy!

Gorgeous beach, stunning view, crystal clear water. We arrived around 2:30pm and it wasn't what I would call crowded at all.

Definitely worth a visit, either by longtail or on a tour.

Got a longtail boat over from Phi Phi early this morning. Arrived on the beach about 8am, just one other longtail boat there & 2 people on the beach. Walked along the beach & back taking photo's, stunning beach. By 8:30am, the 1st speedboat had arrived, discharging its load of Japanese tourists.

I'd imagine the place gets very busy later on, so best to visit early if you want the beach to yourself for a little while

I paid 200 baht fee upon arrival, although I've read its 400baht ?. Confusing
