“Why didn't I listen to the other to resent reviews:-(”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2012

I few days before we went to Phi Phi I found out that we should book a hotel because it looket like there almost wasn't any rooms left. So I paniced and booked to room for the four of us in Phuttachot.

Ohhh my goood what a mistake!!!! We payd about 2600 Baht pr room and it's only worth 1000 Baht.

The window in the bathroom can't be closed - Yes let's welcome all the misquitos and other bugs to the room. And the door to the bathroom can't be closed. The sealing has big spots on it which the tried to paint over.

The showers are misserabel and there is no soap.

The room is NOT worth that money. DON'T GO HERE.....

Listen to the warnings of other reports.
Simply looking at the overall shape of the reviews tells you to steer clear.
I fear the hotel piggy-backs on the popularity of Phi Phi, which is fantastic, whilst Phuttachot is not.

The water works is a misnomer. We walked past several times on our stay and whilst you might get a smell sometimes, generally it looks likes an attractive garden with little odour and Phuttachot is also close to several other resorts like JJ Bungalows (much better!!)

As for Phuttachot, I'd like to comment on the rooms, but can't as despite paying in full 4 weeks in advance, they double booked us. We'd also booked a superior double. Despite arguing, they weren't interested and we were shifted to a basic room on Phi Phi Garden Views.
Customer service at Phuttachot was non existent!

The pictures on-line fail to show the junk yard out side the front of Phuttachot.
Booked through Expedia and not good value for money at all.

The room in Phi Phi Garden Views was functional with a safe and air conditioning, but no doubt we had over paid.

As a young female backpacker I have spent ages looking on review sites for hotels that are cheap but clean and safe. Which is why I felt the need to write this review for anybody who is doing the same. I don't even know where to start. I realise that in phi phi you have to have a good amount of money to spend if you want a sea view so we didn't mind the 20 minute treck up the hill to our resort. However when we got there the man on reception was SO rude it was unbelievable. He kept telling me to take a seat and he would "deal with me in a minute" after trying to explain to him that I was only standing up to read the map of the island on the back of the door he still kept saying take a seat. So we were left outside in the heat in the entrance to the hotel which can only be described as a dumping ground for all the locals rubbish. We eventually got shown our room. Nice wooden beds, nice wooden wardrobe and good aircon. Apart from that the whole room was filthy our sheets stank and were stained, our toilet was rank, the floor was sandy, the floor also had dirty used cotton wool buds on it,the mirror was broken in the bathroom. When you flushed the toilet all the water just spilled out onto the floor in the bathroom. There was one bottle of water even though there were two guests. I went to complain about the cotton wool buds only because I thought we can deal with the rest were not going to be in the room that much anyway. The man was horrible,he actually sighed and made a pffft noise when I told him our room was dirty,he put his head in his hands and made a huge effort just to stand up and look at me when I was speaking. So obviously I went mental! And told him about all that was wrong with our room. Not once did we get a apology. He then called some woman down to come and sweep the cotton wool bud out of our room onto the tiles outside. Nice. This was the most expensive hotel we have stayed at £50 a night and I can honestly say it was the worst. The room was never cleaned or clean towels or new toilet roll. It wasn't safe for young travellers as no proper security. Insaine how bad it was. Oh and when I asked if we could possibly have another bottle of water because our room was so bad and there was actually two of us. He said no only one water per room and slammed the door. This place should be shut down. I've no clue where they took the photos they have on website but they must have photo shopped out the rubbish!

More like 500m from the pier, through a building site and up a muddy path.

The accommodation was clean, staff friendly, room had some lovely wooden furniture and a large cupboard. A door with a large balcony (but did not lock). We had a fridge and a nice en-suite toilet/shower.

Early morning cockerels and frog chorus to get you up early....!

The woman on reception was very friendly and helpful, however it all went downhill once we got into our room. After entering the room we noticed it was FULL of mosquitos, and we spent the first 2 hours trying to kill them all. We then couldnt close the window in the bathroom so had to use a towel to block the gap so no more would enter.

The room was small, with limited facilities. A wardrobe and a dated television was all we had (only place we stayed in Thailand without a dvd player). The bathroom was small with a poor shower. We didnt receive any clean towels all week, even after asking for some.

To get to the hotel you have to walk past the sewage works, which as you can imagine wasn't very pleasent.

All in all, I am a believer in you get what you pay for. This is a cheap place to stay, however it still wasn't worth the money we paid.

Having read a lot of terrible reviews about just about all budget hotels in Koh Phi Phi, we took the plunge and booked Phuttachot and crossed our fingers! We were greeted at the pier by our pick up guy (they carry your bags and you all follow him to the hotel). We walked passed the sewege garden that everyone had complained about and although it does smell a bit, it is NOWHERE near as bad as everyone makes out and should not put you off staying here! When we arrived, we were v pleasantly surpised by the room, it was v nice and clean and had a cute balcony...better than we expected.

It is slightly out of town (5 min walk), but this suited us as we wanted to stay away from the noise. Only problem was we had v noisy neighbours who talked on balcony until 5am and you can hear everything through the walls...

For good food on phi phi, go to the food market area near the pier, loads cheaper than the restaurants and food so much better there!

How this place is number 2 out of 30 is a mystery to me. The only good points about it is that they did have someone at the pier to collect us and walk us to the B&B, otherwise we wouldn't have found it through the maze of little streets. It's also not in a bad location as you can walk back into the centre in a few minutes although you do have to walk past the sewage treatment plant and it isn't well lit after dark.
The room wasn't great at all. The door was difficult to lock and very weak so I had to put something in front of it at night to make sure it stayed closed. Everything in the bathroom was dirty. There were stains on the bed and the bed itself was as hard as a rock and the pillow cases had holes from what looked like a mouse chewing on them. There were cats everywhere and they cried all night. The Walls were paper thin so you could hear people having a conversation in the next room.
