“Lovely accommodation, rude staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

Hotel is on the beach, location is lovely but remote - 30 minute walk to phi phi town. Bungalows lovely, very clean and spacious. Nice outdoor area with table and chairs. Room cost 1,500 baht per night (low season).
Would recommend this if you don't want to be in the madness of phi phi.
Staff were very unapproachable, didn't seem bothered. No acknowledgements, thanks or have a nice stay.

Before addressing the staffs disgraceful attitude and sheer rudeness, I will start of with the positives:
The location is wonderful, the best possible location in Phi Phi, golden soft sandy beach and just a jiffy from the town, Long Beach is a MUST. If one was to walk to the town through woodlands you must be careful, it's slippy steep and full of creatures; would not advise going with infants. The staff advised me it was a 10 minute walk but was at least a good 30-40.The rooms were fairly good, however their were a large amount of Mosquitos and insects but heyyy it's Thailand. What I did not expect when returning back from town was a huge Komodo Dragon two feet from my doorstep, despite my attempts to put on a brave face infront of my Wifey, I was a tad scared, and my partner was halfway down the beach screaming. So if you do stay here, keep your eyes pealed!!

Now..the staff. I have noticed a sense of hostility amongst many places in Thailand towards tourists but this was just a bit much, which drove me to thinking that I may of offended the staff somehow...but NO they were just rude. The restaurant staff were the worst, they spoke under their breath after serving you which was clearly a rude remark due it to being followed by childish giggles from the other teenage staff members. The front desk staff were not great as the only one who spoke English and was fairly dismissive and wanted to see the back of you.

To conclude the resort itself was a spectacle you will remember forever. A visual that you would only see on a post card and It comes to you at a very reasonable price. If you can manage to survive the dragons and dragon-like staff then by all meens PP Paradise Pearl Resort is for you. 8/10

After staying in a cheap, basic mosquito net and fan bungalow in Railay, we decided to splurge on a room at Paradise Pearl. Our room was clean and had much appreciated AC ( a luxury!). We loved our little patio area in from of the bungalow (however, weware of mosquitos).

We spent a relaxing two nights here. Long beach was just lovely, the best beach in Ko Phi Phi in my opinion! We also had a massage on the premises - very much recommended with competent staff, view of the ocean and greenery and post- massage tea!

However, I found the food at the restaurant to be overpriced compared to other places closer to town.

This hotel is nicer than advertised. It is a great location, right on the beach. However, it is not right in town, so you'll have a 25 minute walk each day if you're wanting to go there. Those who said it was an hour walk are either very very old or extremely out of shape; it's 25 min max and really scenic. The rooms were very clean and spacious; wifi worked great. The staff, however, is far from polished. I get the sense that they do not have a lot to do, so they just sit around waiting for orders from hotel guests. We were there during the low season, so maybe they just have too many people working?? In any case, the service could definitely be improved. The food in the restaurant was average at best (breakfast was below average). Also, don't eat the mussels; I ate them and threw up all night. None of their other food made me sick; just the mussels. I would definitely stay here again; really great value. The beach right in front of the hotel is really nice; great, quiet spot to relax on the beach. Also, I booked the room in person (as opposed to booking online) and it was considerably cheaper. We paid 1500 baht/night, including breakfast. We liked it so much, we decided to stay 3 extra days.

I must note first that this hotel is on long beach and a short boat ride away from phi phi town centre. There is a nice walk to town through the jungle but only for able people as there are tree trunks to climb near the beginning and steep slopes.

For couples wanting to get away for a while this place is perfect it is away from the parties and on a beautiful beach. The food is pretty good not amazing but cocktails are very good :).

I'm not sure about some peoples comments about the staff. I found them to be really helpful and had no problems with them. The night porter was especially helpful and helped us in the middle of the night when we had some noisy lizards come in.

Rooms are nice and clean with nice decoration. The air con isn't the best but they also had fans and We weren't too hot. keep the light outside on to stop things coming in and you will have a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed :).

We expected the worst having read other reviews on the staff at pearl paradise. From start to end we had no bad experiences with the staff. If anything they're bored!! We stayed in bungalow A2, it's very private and right on the beach but you need to walk about 20 metres around the fence to access the beach. If I was staying again (and I would!!) I'd choose P1 or P2- they are directly in front of the beach as well and you can walk straight from the balcony. Long beach is perfect for couples but is definitely not for partying!

Myself and my wife went to this resort with average expectations. The beach is breath taking and truly amazing. The beach and water was the only saving grace to the resort. The resort is a short walk to town or a quick boat ride.

The downside:

The food is average and the staff are incredibly rude and burdened by the guests. No one would smile or say hello and appeared to be disinterested. They would sit around in groups and if you needed something during dinner it was a struggle to even get someone.

The rooms are poorly kept and need some work. There appeared to have squished bug marks on the walls and the toilet seat was disgustingly stained. Very simple fixes could make this resort a diamond in the rough.
