“Rude staff...Breakfast? what breakfast?”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

Having stayed here in 2011 we were excited to come back! We were severely let down! The reception staff was bossy and it seemed we had checked into a concentration camp with the list of orders they gave us! One towel, one key don't lose them else there is a 500 bht fee! Breakfast is advertised as being served as up to 10.30am....we arrived at 10am to be offered 1/2 a cup of coffee, the egg station was being cleaned and put away, no milk, no butter, so ended up with 1 piece of toast, and a kind Aussie guy gave me what was left of his butter! we had booked a double room....but they gave us a twin! we said "its valentines day" she said "you will cope for one night"
don't book here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We spent 6 nights in P.P. Palm Tree Resort in February 2014. The hotel is alright but nothing more. We stayed there for 6 nights and it felt kind of long time. For a short stay on Phi Phi island the hotel is perfect, for anything longer than 3 nights I would advise a search for another one.

On the positive side, I would list the spacious rooms and the cleanliness of the place. The housekeeping did a great job! On the negative side: the breakfast (very limited choice), the size of the pool (quite small considering the number of rooms), the "hot" water (was not really always hot). The location of the hotel is good if you want to be close to all restaurants and bars. However, both beaches which are approx. 10 min walk are not really used for swimming and sunbathing (one of them is occupied with boats, and the second beach is used for drinking and parties so it is quite dirty daytime). We ended up taking a long boat every day to Long Beach, which is the closest good quality beach you can find.

I think this one of the best hotels in the PP, that located in center of all activities.
The one and only one mismatch (by my opinion only) that all hotel is for non smoking, but some guest bot care about this, (so pls hotel or try to catch this violator or let to smoke for all)
The pool access room are amazing, room is clean, and the distance from pier is 5 min walk (no cars in the Island).

Room Tip: The pool access room are great!!!

We spent two nights in early feb during our visit to phi phi. This is one of the less expensive options which I chose based on the ratings at tripadvisor. He choice was good. The hotel is very conveniently located. It was actually very loud in this area during the night so earplugs are recommended. The noise was from the bars and partying within the block. There is a fruit store nearby and many restaurants to choose from. We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel as we signed up for two tours. The first night we went to the sunset viewpoint. Second day took a walk to long beach in the morning and booked a half day tour to phi phi leh. The snorkeling was the best there. The maya beach was over crowded with people and over rated. The water was murky and all living things were absent in the water. The small dead beach was great though. The third day we chartered a long tail to go to the bamboo island and mosquito island. We walked around the bamboo island in about an hour and a half, stopping many times to enjoy the scenery and took photos. We got there before 8am so there was almost no tourists there. Absolutely stunning beauty! Then we went to the mosquito island for snorkeling. I had never seen so many fish in my life. The bottom of the sea, though, is filled with dead corals. Probably due to human activity. There are lots of sea urchins and my foot was even stung by one. The total time was about 4.5 hours.

My boyfriend and I spend weeks trying to find the right hotel, trawling through reviews and trying to find somewhere that didn't have a heap of terrible ones. We finally settled on this and were extremely happy with our choice! The staff were friendly, the place was clean and spotless from the dining area and pool to our beautiful room! We stayed in the pool entry room and while didn't enter directly into the pool was immaculate. There was an excellent choice for breakfast and I think the only way to really describe PP Palms is an oasis, its hidden right in the centre of a hustle and bustle of rabbit warrens. We did bring some friends back and whilst we had no issues having them in our room in the evening, we did get told off for being in the pool but totally understandable! Unfortunately I did get gastro whilst here (don't have any ice!) and was confined to the room. We had 3 english movie channels which kept me from going insane and it was so quiet! If your looking for somewhere affordable look no further - this place was perfect!

The hotel is right in the middle of Phi Phi, so you have all facilities at your door step. On the other hand you are also in the middle of the worst of Phi Phi. Chaos and dirty. The hotel itself is ok: rooms are old and kind of shabby, but they are clean. Breakfast was decent and staff helpful. However, our room smelled like seweage. It was barely possible to stay at the room. I don't know if the other rooms have the same problem or if we were unlucky, but we wouldn't go back.

This hotel was right in the mix of things and yet seemed like a quiet oasis as soon as you walk in. We were walking distance to everything. The hotel even provided flip flops which came in handy. At night the bars and clubs start playing very loud music, but the sound was minimal inside our room and did not affect are ability to get a good nights sleep. The breakfast had a lot of choices as well. The beds were a bit hard, but that would be our only complaint.
